Storm to host golf tourney
The Storm and The Club at Cypress Creek are teaming up to host the first Tampa Bay Storm Golf Tournament, which will benefit Wounded Warriors Family Support. Coaches and players, including head coach Tim Marcum, quarterback Brett Dietz and receiver/linebacker Lawrence Samuels, will participate and be grouped into five-somes with tournament participants. Also included in the 18-hole event: hole-in-one, longest drive and putting contests, a gift bag, free 10-minute lesson, silent auction and a cocktail/awards dinner. Participants will receive Cannon Club tickets to the Storm's May 5 game against the Chicago Rush. Registration starts at noon, and will be followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The Golf Club at Cypress Creek is located at 1011 Cypress Village Blvd. in Ruskin.
NOTE: The mission of Wounded Warriors Family Support is to provide support to the families of those who have been wounded, injured or killed during combat operations. The families of these casualties suffer in many ways: some financially, some psychologically. WWFS mitigates their trauma by allowing them to find peace and solace as a family once more in family-friendly resorts that are provided free of charge.
