Jones still out for Grand Rapids

The calf injury that kept starting offensive guard Kenyatta Jones out of Friday's win against New Orleans is likely to keep him from playing for at least another week, Storm coach Tim Marcum said Monday. For now, though, the team has no plans of placing Jones on Injured Reserve. By doing so, he would have to miss a minimum of four weeks.

Guardian20crutches"We're hoping it's not a four-week injury," Marcum said.

Elsewhere ...

DB Daryon Brutley is still in limbo. Brutley sustained a concussion last Monday against Chicago and did not play against New Orleans. "He says he's okay, but we certainly don't want to mess with that," Marcum said.

Brutley's replacement in the lineup, Byron Jones, hurt his hamstring against the VooDoo and probably is out this week. Because of the injuries to Brutley and Jones, the Storm might have to sign a player off the practice squad this week.

Tampa Bay plays at Grand Rapids on Friday night.
