Storm, Forum reach sales and marketing agreement

The Storm and St. Pete Times Forum have reached a two-year sales and marketing agreement that will keep the team at the arena through at least the 2010 Arena Football League season.

“It was a true pleasure to work with (Lightning and St. Pete Times Forum CEO Oren Koules) on creating a deal that builds off of the past success of the cooperation between the Tampa Bay Storm and the St. Pete Times Forum,” Storm majority owner Dr. Bob Nucci said in a release. “We both want what is best for the team, the arena, the community and our fans, and I feel that we accomplished that goal. This provides the Storm with an opportunity to expand its presence in the Tampa Bay community and ensures stability for our fans into the future.”

The Storm's sales and marketing partnership with the Forum dates back to October of 1999. Since then, the team's attendance figures have risen from 10,656 a game to 16,793 in 2008.

“We are pleased to be able to let Arena football fans know that the Storm will be back in action at the St. Pete Times Forum for at least the next two seasons,” Koules said in a release. “The building, the team and its fans have enjoyed a great relationship for several years now and as the new operators of the Times Forum, we appreciate Dr. Nucci and the Storm showing the same faith in our business philosophies and goals as the NCAA has in bringing the Women’s Final Four back to our building (2015) and the major event promoters who continue to select us to be the home for the most major national touring acts, including, most recently Billy Joel, Elton John and Britney Spears.”

Additionally, the Nucci Spine Institute, which Nucci owns, has entered into a two-year sponsorship agreement with the Lightning and the Forum.

The Nucci Spine Institute sponsorship deal provides NSI with exposure as the presenting sponsor at select St. Pete Times Forum events, as a game night sponsor at a Lightning game, television spots during CW 44’s "High Voltage" broadcast of Lightning games, in-arena LED exposure and radio spots during Lightning games.

“The St. Pete Times Forum is a world-class venue,” Nucci said. “Nucci Spine Institute is extremely excited to be affiliated with the Forum and the opportunity that it provides now and into the future.”

The Storm is entering its 23rd season in the AFL and has called the Forum home since 1997. During the past 12 AFL seasons, the Storm has played 143 games at the Forum with an average attendance of 14,883.
