For the past six years, the rapper’s charity youth football game, the Snoop Bowl, has become a fixture on Super Bowl weekend. This year’s will take place at 1 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Jesuit High School Football Complex. Organizers say several thousand tickets will soon go on sale to the public.

The Bucs’ Earnest Graham is lined up to lead a group of area youngsters against the Snoop Dogg All-Stars, the Snoop-coached pee-wee team from Southern California. A number of NFL players will lend a hand with the teams. The goal, says organizer Steve Brickner, president of Earnest Giving and the 1Voice Foundation, is to teach young players sound football fundamentals and how to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Graham isn’t stopping there. He’ll also host the Earnest Graham & Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament on Jan. 29 at Ginn Reunion Resort in Celebration, and will be part of a mom-oriented baby shower and VIP brunch at Saks Fifth Avenue at WestShore Plaza on Jan. 28. Expect more details on these events in the coming weeks.

NFC SOUTH: Tampa Bay’s win and Atlanta’s victory over Carolina not only moved the Bucs to the top of the division, but also into the NFC’s No. 2 playoff seed. Atlanta is just outside a wild-card spot because of Washington’s better conference record (6-3 vs. 5-3).
NFC EAST: The Giants maintain a three-game lead in the division and a solid hold on the NFC’s No. 1 seed. Washington’s win kept it in the final wild-card spot, thanks to a better record versus common opponents than Dallas and a better NFC record than Atlanta.
NFC NORTH: Chicago has the temporary division lead, tying Minnesota at 6-5 and owning the tiebreaker because of its win over the Vikings. Green Bay can reclaim the division lead with a win tonight, however, thanks to a better head-to-head record among the three contenders.
NFC WEST: Even with their loss to the Giants, the Cardinals didn’t lose ground in the division race because of San Francisco’s loss to Dallas. Arizona clinches the division if it beats Philadelphia on Thursday.

AFC EAST: The Jets’ win over the previously unbeaten Titans kept them a game ahead of the Patriots in the division race and on the heels of the Steelers for the No. 2 playoff seed. New England moved into the No. 6 seed pending the outcome of Sunday night’s Colts game.
AFC NORTH: Pittsburgh’s win over the Bengals on Thursday night preserved its hold on the division lead. Baltimore’s 6-3 conference record assures a wild-card slot, for now.
AFC SOUTH: The Titans took their first loss of the season, but they still have a solid lead in the division and will be tough to catch for the No. 1 playoff seed. The Colts needed a win Sunday night to retain one of the wild-card spots. A Colts loss moves the Patriots into a wild-card spot and leaves Indianapolis a game behind the Ravens and New England.

Vibe magazine brings the Pain to Ybor

A big three-night party is coming to Ybor City on Super Bowl weekend -- and it'll star a big-time music magazine and a big-time name in Florida hip-hop.

Vibe magazine is pairing up with T-Pain (above center, performing at Tropicana Field Nov. 8) for its first Super Bowl party, called "T-Pain's Thr33 Ring Circus." It's the centerpiece event of a three-day series of parties organized by Washington, D.C. promotions company Mixcast.

“We think it’s a great marriage between T-Pain and Vibe. He puts on an amazing show,” said Olivia Scott-Perkins, the magazine’s associate publisher for marketing. “We’re really happy that we’re able to bring this type of party to the Super Bowl. No other urban brand is there, so we’re pleased to be the first that we know of to have a party on this stage.”

It makes sense that T-Pain would be hosting his own Super Bowl party, considering the Tallahassee hitmaker is one of Florida’s biggest music superstars. But as he recently told the St. Petersburg Times: “I don’t even want people to think about me being from Florida. ... When people know that that’s where you’re from, that’s all they expect of you.”

SuperLX kicks off Jan. 30 with "Diamonds and Pearls," a celebrity gala co-organized by the Professional Sports Wives Association. It will feature an appearance by entrepreneur Dylan Lauren, the daughter of Ralph Lauren and founder of Dylan’s Candy Bar, a whimsical sweets shop with two locations in Orlando. There will be soul food, a performance by R&B singer Jon B., and pricey jewelry on display.

SuperLX will wrap up Sunday with a disco-themed “Studio 43” party starring hip-hop entrepreneur and scenester Kenny Burns, the event’s weekend-long host. It’ll begin right after the game.

Both parties (as well as Diamonds and Pearls) will take place in Ybor City’s old Good Luck Cafe building (1910 E Seventh Ave.), which is reinventing itself as the GLC Entertainment Complex.

Official Super Bowl banners available

Want to show your Super Bowl spirit? The Tampa Bay Super Bowl Host Committee today launched the limited-time sale of official Super Bowl XLIII banners for area businesses, hotels and restaurants. They're available in seven different styles. Prices range from $9 for an 8.5-inch-by-11-inch flyer to $70 for an 8-foot-by-3-foot banner showing a sun-kissed giant football and the words "Believe in Now." Host committee executive director Reid Sigmon calls it a "regional decorations program." Committee chairman Dick Beard says the banners will help businesses attract some of the 100,000 visitors expected to descend on the region for the game, set for 6 p.m. Feb. 1 at Raymond James Stadium. Tix for "The Good Life Experience" available

The limited sale of tickets to a series of parties hosted by boxer Winky Wright, entertainment icon Diddy and football great Deion Sanders went on sale today. Wright promises "the hottest series of parties ever to take place during Super Bowl week."  Tickets to the events, scheduled for Jan. 29-31 at The Venue in St. Petersburg, range from $200 to $800. SB Host Committee launches online calendar

Want to stay on top of Super Bowl related activities? The Super Bowl host committee has launched an online calendar of public events. So far, it includes info on such things as an NFL photo exhibit, a variety of celebrity golf tournaments, concerts and a barbecue festival. Expect much more in the coming weeks.

Card shark McCarthy plots a Hard Rock bash

A few weeks ago, we told you Jenny McCarthy was being lined up to co-host the annual Leather and Laces Party at Jackson’s Bistro on Jan. 30.

Now McCarthy’s got her own gig to promote. She’s hosting a poolside party called Aces 4 Autism from 2 to 10 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. It’s the first Super Bowl week event to be announced at the Hard Rock, expected to be one of Tampa’s top party destinations during Super Bowl week.

Aces 4 Autism will feature silent and live auctions, as well as a host of celebrity guests, all benefitting autism research charity Generation Rescue. A limited number of tickets, priced at $350, will be go on sale to the public soon.

A spokeswoman for Generation Rescue said McCarthy’s main squeeze, Jim Carrey, is not yet confirmed to attend either Aces 4 Autism or Leather and Laces. But you never know  — the Yes Man just might find it hard to RSVP no.

Either way, this Hard Rock event definitely suits McCarthy, a total card shark. In October, she co-hosted a poker fundraiser called Ante Up for Autism with Lance Armstrong. This summer, she hosted a blackjack tournament in the Bahamas, and in 2007 she dealt blackjack during a tournament at the Playboy Club in Las Vegas — dressed, of course, as a Playboy Bunny.

Samantha Ronson (and Lindsay Lohan?) in Tampa?

Might we have a Lindsay Lohan sighting at this year’s Super Bowl?

Lohan’s better half, celebrity DJ Samantha Ronson, is booked to perform at the ESPN the Magazine NEXT Party on Jan. 30 in downtown Tampa. Reps for Ronson and ESPN confirmed the appearance this week.

The Super Bowl is not virgin territory for the Hollywood party circuit star. Ronson's bio says she performed at the ESPN party at Super Bowl XL in Detroit, as well as a Playstation party that same year. A spokesman said she was asked to perform at several parties last year, but her busy schedule wouldn’t allow it.

The openly gay Ronson has been notoriously coy about her are-they-or-aren’t-they relationship with Lohan. But after this week’s Election Day smackdown of gay-rights ballot issues nationwide, she had this to say on her MySpace blog: “Gay people in Florida and California can no longer get married and gay couples in Arkansas can’t adopt children. G-d (sic) forbid a loving family (regardless of sexual orientation) give a needy child a home!”

Bottom line: Don’t expect Ronson and Lohan to elope while they’re in town.
