Joe Perry Project coming to the State Theatre

Joe.perry
How often do you get to see one of the most famous guitarists in the world in a 700-ish-capacity club? Not all that often, right?

So be sure to head to the State Theatre on Dec. 5, when Sarsota's own Joe Perry, of Aerosmith megafame, will bring his new side project, the creatively named Joe Perry Project, to St. Pete.

The gig is at 7 p.m. Tickets are $28. Go here for details.

Meanwhile, there's still no word on a rescheduled date for Aerosmith's Ford Amphitheatre gig that was canceled this summer. But despite the band's many health issues in the past year, Perry told Sean Daly in September that "Aerosmith is not broken up." That's good news for local fans, but they'd probably like to see a rescheduled gig to prove it.

Maybe this show in December will tide them over.
