Tally Ho
Next week I'm off to Tallahassee, where I'll be writing and blogging (frequently, I hope) from the state Capitol. The Legislature convenes on Tuesday in a special session to deal with the subject of property taxes, which (along with hurricane insurance) is the hottest state-level political issue we've got.
Taxpayers across Florida are waiting to see how much relief they get from the Legislature; cities and counties are worried as they wait to see how much their budgets will be slashed.
On Tuesday here on TroxBlog, our regular weekly live chat will be expanded to a special two-hour edition, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., to talk about the Legislature and the tax issue. You don't have to register or sign up for the chat -- all you have to do is come to TroxBlog, look for the announcement that the chat is open, and click on the "Comments" link. From there you either can take part or just see what other folks are saying. I hope to see you here!

Welcome to TroxBlog, the web-home of columnist Howard Troxler, where he and readers discuss his column topics and current events. The goal here is to focus on the merits of issues, instead of personal attacks or knee-jerk partisanship.
Give'm hell, Howard.

Am I the only one that things the Capitol resembles something, what with the two domes and all?

Whatever do you mean?
On a more publishable note, after some particularly anti-consumer bill I think I described the Capitol as a giant middle finger between two knuckles, aimed at the rest of the state.
