Another plug for Tuesday's live election chat

OperatorsDon't forget that the weekly live chat here on TroxBlog will be a special Election Day edition, two hours long, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. I hope you'll stop by to take part or to see what folks are saying. I'll be taking comments and questions about the election, of course, but also anything else that's on your mind.

To take part or observe the chat, come back to TroxBlog and look for a new post at 11:30 with the headline, "The Election Day chat is OPEN." Click on the "Comments" link of that announcement and you'll be taken to a page showing everything that's been said so far, with a form for you to add your own question or comment. Keep refreshing the comments page to see the latest.

If you can't be here live on Tuesday, feel free to "pre-file" a question or comment to THIS announcement by clicking on the "Comments" link a few lines below. I'll work it into the live chat on Tuesday. Also, don't forget that you can always come by afterwards to read a transcript of what folks had to say.

Happy Election Day, and I hope to see you at the chat.

I just voted NO on Amendment 1… ie: the use of our Constitution to validate the act of forced taxation upon the people.

The greatest untold story of this entire scam perpetrated by our Legislature in an effort to divert attention away from their failure to address the real problem; Insurance.

Wow if this guy is for real Howard, you better put thimbles on your typing fingers today.
I am voting no on Amendment #2 to make up for him.

Another subject for today~~ Is that the same Edward Kennedy that swam from Martha's Vineyard to the mainland with a tire around his neck ??????
At night ?????

Howard, some pretty bold predictions in today's column. Defeat of the Property Tax Amendment? If that does happen, how do you think this is going to play out for Florida? Do you think the clowns in Tallahassee will be able to work out a compromise during the upcoming sideshow? Will whatever they do work out have to be approved by the voters and now go on the November 2008 election agenda? We may not live long enough to see any property tax relief in Florida.

Can't wait for todays chat, this is gonna be interesting.

Same Cheney who shot Texas funeral board director appointed by Bush. (Yet he served no prison time for his 3 DUI's)Google "funeralgate."
Same Bush who hid his DUI's and lied us into killing and maiming thousands of innocents in illegal aggressive war and occupation in Iraq.
Same Laura Bush who crashed her car into ex-boyfriend and killed him.
Same Mitt whose car killed person in France while he was "missionary", instead of soldiering.
Same Ted whose two brothers were MURDERED for politics.
Same Caroline whose dad and uncle were MURDERED to prevent their dedication to equal rights for all citizens, even poor folks and minorities.

We do not need a Constitutional Amendment to lower property taxes. The State Legislature does not have control over you local millage rates. Amendment 1 is an absolute scam and a diversion. You can spin it to your hearts content, but it will not change that facts.

About This Blog

ANNOUNCEMENT: WEEKLY LIVE CHAT: Join Howard from noon to 1 p.m. each Tuesday here on TroxBlog for a live online chat about current events in Florida and the Tampa Bay area.

TroxBlog is the blog-home of Howard Troxler, a St. Petersburg Times metro columnist since 1991. His print column normally appears Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays on page 1B.

Born March 19, 1959, in Burlington, N.C., Troxler writes a mix of reporting, analysis, satire and commentary on state and local matters. He considers himself politically unpredictable with libertarian leanings ("I'm for gay marriage WITH gun ownership") but readers routinely conclude he is hopelessly biased against whatever it is they happen to be for. He is married to a woman who has more sense than he does and lives in St. Petersburg.
