Attack of the live chat, Tuesday noon - 1 p.m!
What's on your mind concerning the news these days? Worried about Wall Street? Looking forward to Tuesday's bid opening for the fate of Tropicana Field? Why not stop by TroxBlog around noon Tuesday to talk about it in our weekly live chat? I'll be here for an hour or so taking questions and comments about current events in the Tampa Bay area and beyond.
To observe or take part in Tuesday's chat, come to TroxBlog at or just after noon and look for a new item with the headline, "The March 18 chat is OPEN." Click on the "Comments" link of that item and you'll see a page with everything that's been said in the chat so far, and a space at the bottom for you to join in.
If you can't be here live Tuesday, feel free to "pre-file" a comment or question in the comments field of THIS post, by clicking the link a few lines below. And be sure to stop by TroxBlog afterward to read the transcript and see what folks had on their minds.
Otherwise, I hope to see you at noon Tuesday...

ANNOUNCEMENT: WEEKLY LIVE CHAT: Join Howard from noon to 1 p.m. each Tuesday here on TroxBlog for a live online chat about current events in Florida and the Tampa Bay area.
Not that Hillary is any less self-interested, but why do you think some Florida Democrats still support Obama?
He was OK with their primary election disenfranchisement. Still, he sneaked into the state to collect big bucks checks while shunning the voters--as he'd agreed to do. He excused all this by saying that, though he is a "new kind of leader," he was "just following the rules."
Now, he says the Florida delegates can be "allowed" if he gets to decide how the Democrats voted back in January.
Are his Florida supporters like some victims of domestic violence--somehow held in place by a sick pathology that craves more abuse?

The Rays parking suvey came in and, guess what, they discovered that there indeed enough parking. But, hold on, just a minute. Almost half of it is private. One guy said "Do you expect them to have contracts for parking spots in place for something that MIGHT happen in four years' time." Yes, I do. A parkng spot is not something you can count on unless it's down in writing. And currently almost 50% of their so-called parkng spots are not up for grabs. Including mine. The one I pay for all year, 24/7 so I can work and go downtown. Trusting is the Rays' parking group to be fair and unbiased is like trustng drug research paid for by, say, Merck or Pfizer.

I'm in the same situation as William. I pay for a parking spot for work, so I can have 24/7 access and they have the garage I park in listed as available for game parking. Not only that, we have 3 other employees who we have paid spots, all counted as usable for the Ray's needs. Sure, its got to be pretty darn hard to do a study like that and they have to come out with 'yes, there's enough parking' because that's the result they are getting paid to come up with. Just take the results with a grain of salt. Downtown will be gridlocked and established businesses will be vacant before and after games, just my prediction, but I'm thinking the 'new' stadium will have plenty of places for people to buy food and drinks as the Rays aren't going to pass us that locked in market opportunity.

Open air baseball stadium? Any of you baseball fans tried to sit thru a preseason Buc's game. So hot you can hardly stand it!! Me thinks the Ray's outlanders should make the trip. Why do you think we (and I mean WE) built a domed stadium in the first place. For Staying Cool
