« Thursday column: Heckuva job on that toxic plume, y'all | Main | Poll: Rays stadium financing plan »

May 15, 2008

A program note

Happy Thursday. I hope to post something at mid-afternoon, once the Tampa Bay Rays make public their proposed plan for financing a new waterfront baseball stadium in downtown St. Petersburg. To quote a variety of guys down through human history: This had better be good.

Comments

Loved your fantasy in today's column. My fantasy is that the toxic plume had actually happened under Charlie Crist's neighborhood and then we'd see how long it would take to clean up. While we're busy dissing Charlie, exactly what is Mayor Rick Baker doing. I see another fantasy, this time that plume is under his neighborhood. Keep up the good work. Someone may actually start paying attention.

NO TAX DOLLARS, NEW OR CURRENT; PERIOD!

No new Stadium period.

How about a column about,

BARRY Obama
CURLY Clinton &
MOE McCain

Howard???????

All Tax-payers should have a vote on the Rays new stadium if county and/or state tax-dollars are used.

The tax-payers, the Rays, and the developers will be PARTNERSHIP in this Stadium development. So All the TAX-PAYERS (city, county and state) should have a VOTE on the developments and share in the returns ($$$$$).

Stop these give aways to the private businesses without some return to the citiziens that paid for it with their tax-dollars.

If my Sales Tax and/or Property Tax is used for this stadium or use to subsidize the city services of St. Petersburg, I demand to have a democratic vote on the stadium issue.
