Excellent article, Tom. When my son was 9, he wrote a speech about parent behaviour during hockey games. It's called the Magic Hockey Helmet and can be found on YouTube. It's received 260,000 hits and now linked to nearly 200 minor sporting websites. Let's hope that educating some parents on these dos and don'ts will make each child's experience more fun.

Hey Tom,
Great article!!! I have managed and coached little league teams for the past 8 years and I have to say I've been guilty of a few "don'ts" in your article!! You have "refreshed" my perspective as a coach and parent..as I have an 11 year old that has been playing baseball since he was 4...ahh yes...I do miss those T-ball days of laughing, having fun and getting snacks after the game! Now it's all to serious!! But...they grow and that's what's expected at this level!! As All Stars start here next week...I'm going to make a copy of this article and pass it out to all parents and post it at the field....just as a "refresher" to some of the coaches and parents that have "forgot" what Little League Baseball should be about!!!
Thanks!

Tom Jones doesn't sing "It's Not Unusual'' or shake his hips (well, unless you're willing to pay cash), but he does have plenty to say about sports. If it's funny, crazy, weird, irreverent or worth arguing, Tom has his opinions. So pull up a chair and get his two cents -- and give him your two cents, as well.
