The critics can jump on Caray all they want but when will someone tell the announcers to stop fawning over every Yankee in the lineup? I understand every member of a team plays a role in winning a division or earning a wild card spot but the platitudes heaped on the Yankees is nauseating. One of the announcers last week suggested Derek Jeter was the ONLY shortstop who could have made the play to catch Jason Giambi trying to score in the playoffs a few years ago. Further, he gushed about Mariano Rivera in such a ridiculous manner, I thought it was his mother with a deep voice telling us of his skills. Granted, both players are great and have done great things on the field but they are not the be-all and end-all of baseball talent. I turned off the game sound because of the nonsense I was hearing. Great, yes. God-like, no.

SC---Carl...

That was Jeremy Giambi that was nailed by Jeter at the plate in Oakland. Are you getting your facts or lack there of from Chip Caray????

Chip Carey is brutally bad

"The critics can jump on Caray all they want but when will someone tell the announcers to stop fawning over every Yankee in the lineup?"

Oh please. Caray sounded like he was delivering a funeral eulogy whenever the Yankees scored. If the Twins made any halfway decent play he was wetting himself. That dog wont hunt, pal.

And Tom, I dont know if you cherry picked this baseball weather "point" from Deadspin or one of your usual sources today, but its BS. If there was a snow delay during a November World Series game, maybe you would have a point (a first for everything, I suppose) but this was an early October divisional game. If you have a problem with that, whine about barring cold weather clubs from the postseason. A week wouldn't have made a difference in this case.

It is about time Chip Caray is being exposed as the terrible announcer that he is. Tom, thanks for exposing this awful announcer. Also, many publications are finally calling this guy out. That "base hit" call in the Twins,Tigers play in game will go down in one of the all time broadcasting gaffes. Once again, thanks Tom for exposing this fraud

Tom, I have no problem with the Dodgers celebrating their win over the Cardinals. When is their next game?, a week? I had a problem with the way the Twins were celebrating their win over the Tigers, and they had to jump on a plane and play the Yankees in less than 24 hours. You wouldn't think they would be shooting champagne all over the place like that. And that was just a division title win. The Dodgers have gone further than that and advanced to the NLCS

Tom, my prediction for the best college football game of the year will be Florida and Alabama in the National Title game. Why not?, if both teams are unbeaten going in to the SEC Championship game, and if everyone else has at least one loss, it could very well happen.

Tom, another point on the cold weather playoffs. How can baseball be so stupid to allow the Twins to build an outdoor stadium without a retractable roof?

Also, the last time , I looked, going to the final 4 of baseball is a very, very, difficult thing to do. Why shouldn't the Dodgers bee excited?
