Greenlight for green and gold
TAMPA -- On a week where local support for the University of South Florida' s nationally-ranked football team has reached a fever pitch, even some downtown Tampa architecture is getting in on the action.
The pyramid-shaped cap of the SunTrust Tower, shown here glowing in radiant green and gold, was illuminated overnight.

Times sportswriter Greg Auman, who covers USF, will post news and thoughts on the Bulletin and we invite your participation in the comments area.
Tampa only has 1-star electricians. A real football city would light up the entire building !

Greg,
You should pass this on to whoever you can. Its an instant classic, delbert alvardo rapping about matt grothe. It would be hillarious if they could get this into the espn broadcast tonight. http://www.mattgrothe.com/music/grothe/grothe.swf

Tim; Not bad. He probably raps better than he kicks. Maybe a future there for him as opposed to the NFL.

Although I want USF to win, I think just getting the Tampa Bay area excited about Bulls football helped the bulls in the future. Go Bulls!!!!!

Wow! If Delbert could kick as well as he can rap, he would win the Gritza award!

It's a nice gesture, for sure. I was surprised when I saw it lit up last night- it looked pretty cool, to me.

lighting up a building in the town of a crappy program that most oddsmakers will be chosing against is not a good business move. we need to stop with these wise-guy marketing ideas and stick to the basics-- recruiting and player development. with jim at the helm, we can do a lot better than where we're at... A LOT better.
