USF-West Virginia not quite sold out yet

No tickets are currently available online for Friday's USF-West Virginia game, but the game has not yet completely sold out. "A small amount of tickets will be made available as soon as possible," assistant athletic director Chris Freet said Monday at noon. Check back at 1-800-GOBULLS and ticketmaster.com later Monday for new tickets to be released to the public.

USF has increased its allotment of student tickets to 12,501, said to be the largest student section in the Big East at 1 more than West Virginia's.

With a sellout looming, demand for USF-West Virginia tickets on the secondary market is strong. One pair of tickets on ebay.com was bidding at $255, more than three times face value, on Monday morning.

get your tickets now to watch Pat White run through our defense like he did last time he was at RJS.

Shut up, cee.

Last year's stats:

West Virginia Rushing
CAR YDS AVG TD LG
Darius Reynaud 2 67 33.5 0 57
Steve Slaton 18 43 2.4 0 13
Pat White 15 17 1.1 0 10
Owen Schmitt 1 3 3.0 0 3
Travis McClintic 1 2 2.0 0 1
Team 37 132 3.6 -- --

windbane, that game wasn't in raymond james stadium-- aka, mountaineer field south.

So then by your logic cee, their offence should do better than the above mentioned stats in a hostile (sold out) environment. doubt it.

3 times the face value?

Nahhh.... that's not illegal.

the past is the past so look for a good game but at the end. wvu-30 usf-17

Cee go away you add no value

Yep - WVU has never played in a hostile sold-out environment...... NOT!!

Given the situation maybe they will only beat USF by 2 touchdowns instead of 4.

Sould be a great game.

Mark, who said anything about WVU not playing in a hostile environment?
Give us reasons as to why WVU offence will be better this year against our D in our house. The final last year was 24-19 in Morgantown. What makes you think they will beat us by 2-4 TDs. Are they going to shut down our improved offence just like they did last year lol.

Looks like some WVU folks are doing their homework over here.

Can't wait for this game, if you guys are coming down, have a safe trip.

Don't mind Cee up there, I assure you that most USF fans feel really good about our team and coach, but we know this is going to be a huge battle.

I wouldn't come in here thinking you are going to run away with this one though, unless you score on defense, I don't see our D giving up that many points, if you score over 30, I will be impressed.

Whoever wins this game is going to be looking really good in the Big East.

cee, you do realize that 2 years ago, we had none of our current star players, for the most part (Ben Moffit an exception). That was a completely different team they played.

It's no longer illegal to sell tickets above their face value in Florida.

Just wanted to say great game Alvarado. I was on his back pretty good after the Auburn game. Now just keep it up. Greg, Is Chris Robinson back to 100%. We know what he can do against West Virginia.

Yeah -- i was all over alverado myself.

he had a hell of a game. 3-3 -- his punting was incredible.

Who is looking stupid now. Great game Delbert.

RJS will THEE place to be in the US this weekend! As for Cee, remember your contributions can help prevent this horrible disease from effecting anyone else.:-)

I wouldn't say Robinson is 100 percent by any means. He only played Saturday when USF went to their second-string defense on the last drive, unless I missed something. They could be holding him back so West Virginia is preparing for him less, but I think it's just taking a while for him to get back to feeling comfortable on that ankle. I wouldn't expect him to play a significant role, based on what we've seen so far. ...

"So then by your logic cee, their offence should do better than the above mentioned stats in a hostile (sold out) environment. doubt"

Correct me if I'm wrong but Slayton and I believe White were playing injured in last years game at Morgantown.

If I'm not mistaken a large part of this years "sellout" will be dressed in blue and yellow...should be an exciting game, but then a gain it could be a dud, after all football is like a box of chocolates.

How about Capogna? And have the coaches talked about Genus' play? I'm not a line coach so I don't really know how to evaluate a lineman unless he screws up a lot.

There really are only 2 tickets in Florida right now that are worth more than face value- UF and USF. The other football teams stink (NCAA and NFL) and the baseball teams are awful- and the D-Rays are so expensive, I couldn't afford to go see the Sox play this weekend (something I wanted to do). Neither the Heat nor the Magic are contenders. The Lightning could surprise, but the Panthers will stink. And only the UF basketball games will be hot ticket items.

For such a sports crazy state, there are only three marquee teams right now.

Because we had no injuries at WVU, al. Injuries are no excuse. A team is about more than 1/2 guys. If Grothe goes down, I expect Gregory to pick up the slack- that's why he's on the team. If your backups can't do it, then your team isn't great.

Alvardo was great. Besides 3 of 3 in FGs, he was 3 of 3 in extra points, and one of those was backed up 10 yard, and turned into the equivalent of a 30 yard FG. Let's hope that continues. His punting was super, too.

Dave, the bottom line is you didnt play a healthy WVU last year. And to further complicate matters... we have a few more stars this year..;Devine... I will be very supprised if USF can keep within 20 points of WVU. But as the man said earlier you never know in college football.

Food for thought for the USF fans...
East Carolina beat North carolina.
Saturdays scores:
USF 37 NC 10
East Carolina 7 WVU 47
And the only reason EC scored at all is that WVU had the 3rd string in at the end of the game.....

Hey Robert, here's some food for thought for WVU fans

USF beat WVU 24-19 in Morgantown

WVU has to come into sold out Raymond James against a USF team in its biggest game EVER.

Here's some food for thought:

WVU 28
USF 13

IN OUR RENTED HOME.

they can and will do it to us. they have the scheme and the discipline, as well as all the athletes that we wish we had (noel devine). rodriguez knows how to recruit the state of florida, and friday he will show us how to build a program using florida speed.

Cee- Please tell me how we would use Devine? We already have 4 solid RBs. Not that you turn away athletes like that, and I am sure it would be great to have him, but I don't think we are hurting that bad by not having him.

I am not sure if you know this or not, but we actually have a 5 STAR running back. 5 STARS, I think that is the maximum. I know that is what you are concerned with.

This is getting out of control though. It is going to be a close game, or we will blow WVU out, or they will blow us out, or... You get the picture, that's why we go to the game. This is going to be the kind of atmosphere that we could have only dreamed of 3 years ago.

Rented stadium, OCS, or in the middle of an orange grove in Lakeland, this is what it is all about. An up-and-coming USF team trying to make a name for ourselves versus a top 5 WVU program with a lot of history and a National Championship on their mind. If we had the same stadium that UCeeF has, we wouldn't have the same crowd.

If we have +/- 8k students (assuming 4500 companions), what are the other 33k doing? I want to hear USF announce that they are hosting an "overflow party" in the Sun Dome for the students, lets get another 8-10K in there watching this one.

Ryan,

That is what Georgia thought in the 2005 Sugar bowl.... LOL :=)

Ryan,

P.S. It was in the Georgia Dome. VERY hostile enviroment... Every bulldog fan in the house thought that Ga would win. By half time the WV croud there were louder than the dog fans.

Ryan,
But I have nothing but love for you brother and USF- Good luck!

Robert,
Going into the sugar bowl WVU was the underdog with something to prove. Now USF is the underdog with something to prove. Like 2005 Georgia-fans, every WVU fan thinks USF will lose (and many believe we will lose badly). We will see if we are up to the challenge. I think we are. Safe travels to the game for all WVU fans.

Sanjay,

You have a valid point WVU will have their hands full on Friday. But in the end IF they play to thier potential, they have the talent to win. We will see......

cee,

pick up my garbage already. what do i pay you for?

Who would have guessed that after five weeks the undefeated teams in the Big East could be USF, Rutgers, Cincy, and UCONN???

CRAZY!

WVU travelers, enjoy the trip down, because I'm afraid Friday night is might be a long one for you.

jcm- cee pays Leavitt's salary (even though he hates him). Apparently, we should all be paying cee to tell us how inferior our school and team really are.

The other way I could've taken that was to say that you shouldn't pay him- he'll just complain about having something too good for him.

So I have one sarcastic remark and one ad hominem attack. Not sure which one I like better.

Get the Chewin' Tabbaca stocked up at the gas stations, dem WV hicks is commin' to town!

So is it a "sellout" yet? If not, what's the holdup?

WVU has 2 Heisman hopefuls (could easily be 3) and is ranked #5 in the nation. They're coming down with 2-3 former USF coaches (I wonder if they know Leavitt/players). Oh yeah, let's not forget the chip on their shoulder because USF did beat them in their house last year. Friday night the world is their stage. I like USF but I think this one might get a little out of control in the 4th-WVU 41/USF 17
