USF-WVU highest-ranked ESPN Friday game
Friday night's USF-West Virginia showdown at Raymond James Stadium will be only the second Friday night game ever on ESPN's networks to feature two ranked teams, and never before has a Friday game on ESPN or ESPN2 featured teams ranked as high as No. 5 West Virginia and No. 18 USF.
The only other Friday game on an ESPN network featuring two ranked teams was an October 2003 game between No. 13 Minnesota and No. 19 Michigan, according to ESPN's communications department.

Times sportswriter Greg Auman, who covers USF, will post news and thoughts on the Bulletin and we invite your participation in the comments area.
Great. Now Leavitt really can't watch highschool football and recruit the players that would one day make us a ranked team. At this rate, we will never get national exposure or be broadcast as the main game on any network, like ESPN.

Man,
You people are great. Cee has such a brillian family!

Cee's Brilliant Dad- I'm confused, is their another game on friday? Are we not in the prime time game for a friday on ESPN?

Maybe Cee could explain the situation better DepMayor. The rest of us casual fans don't really know what is going on most of the time.

I am a USF Alumni living in DC and hope the Bulls crush WVU. If we win the BCS Championship, maybe Coach Leavitt can give President Bush one of his famous head butts.

I wonder if ESPN and the Big East are kicking themselves for scheduling this game on a Friday night. Would have been a classic Thursday night game.

By the way I am excited about the game and can not wait to get to Tampa to watch the game.

3 days 3.5 hours.
Greg, you should have a rundown clock!

I love the Bulls playing Friday PRIME TIME. I think it will be a hard fought game but give the edge to WV here. I do hope the Bulls pull it off but WV has many weapons

I'm just glad USF is picking up the slack in the Big East now that the Cards are tanking. Cheers to Cincy, too.

WVU is use to the big crowd and noise.....its just another game....but it is a big game....Mountaineers do their busineess and catch the early flight home 30-17...
Posted by: Sam Pittsburgh | September 25, 2007 at 08:36 PM
You are right Sam, it will be a good game but the crowd will be out of it by half - time.
Posted by: RD | September 25, 2007 at 08:50 PM
If my owner would pull me out of his butt, you'd know that there's less than 72 hours until Leavitt's no star players will be hoping the game wasn't a whole 60 minutes...

Hey Greg, are the locations for college game day predetermined way in advance? I know that it would not matter much for this game as we are playing on Friday night. But one can argue that this is the marquee match up of the week, how crazy would it be to one day host College Game Day!!

I am starting to get worried about all this buzz. It seems like it could be a bit of a drain...
You never want to get to high and to amped up. It just worries me that we really havent been in a hugh game like this and WV has played in plenty of them. Most notable was their big win over GA...
I hope we perform well.

Hey Bulls, Great job on Auburn. I was very proud!!
I am a WVU alum and like all loyal fans, I am loyal first to my team then to the conference. We only help one another when we are not head to head.
we will try to give them two more loses to a BE team in 08-09.
I can't really say good luck Friday, but I hope the loss doesnt drop you in the polls to much.
Sincere Comliments,
Level

We can all talk all we want, the WVU people talking about Leavitt's no star recruits, who cares!!! It did not matter last year, we still beat you!! I think you are all in your last days for being able to say "Leavitt's no star recruits". I think you all know how much talent comes out of Florida and with USF rising to national prominence, they will be at the top of this conference pretty much every year relegating the rest of you to slightly less than competitive. The Next Noel Devine might come to South Florida (if we had such use for small running backs). Bank on it, and get used to sighing and mentally chalking up a loss when you see USF on your schedule.

Dennis,
I think that (no star recruits) is from people who have been a part of this blog for a long time mocking a poster known as Cee. WVU knows what we can bring to the table.

USF 24 WVU 14, Top 10 ranking!

The Beast of the East, underestimated the Bulls last year and didnt play up to par, this year Floridian fans of WVu will be there in numbers, and Rock the House. WVU is going to take the skies and beat the Bulls, Reynauld already has 335 years recieving and 4 TD. The Devine one returns home to Run rampaide, good luck rapping him up.

Wvu florida fan base from Bonita Springs, Ft Myers are coming to cheer Noel Devine on, Go gold and Blue, Wvu wins 37 To 17. Defense and passing is the key to beat South Florida, they have played only prenteders know take on a Contender. lol
Posted by: Tasha | September 26, 2007 at 12:15 PM
Alright WVU fans, know this - You CANNOT pass on USF. Run - maybe. Pass - NEVER! Passing will lead to 3-4 USF interceptions. Stay on the ground or be run outta town!

No way White doesn't get picked if he throws more than 15 times. Plus, name another DE in the nation that can stick with those guys other than Selvie. He doesn't exist. Personnel wise, I think we match up better than almost every other team in the nation.
How active will Chris Robinson be, Greg? I think he is the key to the game.
I've really gotta study for an exam...

WVU is used to playing in big games over the last couple of years and crowd noise will not be a factor (i.e. WVU v Georgia). The game will start out with a lot of emotion and penalities and USF will start fast. But the WVU offense will settle down as it has down all season and wear down the USF defense and run away with the game. I am a WVU alum in Tallahassee, FL and will be there screaming to the top of my lungs. USF fans will see how loud the WVU Florida fans will be. This years team has too many weapons. I am happy USF is carrying their weight and making the conference look good. USF has not been tested. Auburn is down this year so that win is not looking too good.
WVU - 31
USF - 24

WVU- 38
USF- 14
GO WVU!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: RD | September 26, 2007 at 05:27 PM
WVU will lose, bank on it. Pat White cannot pass against us. If he does meet Mike Jenkins and Trae Williams. Pat White will get sacked several times if he attempts to pass and then he will get banged up and West Virginia fans can have a built in excuse for another loss.
USF 35
WVU-17

The Bulls are pretty good but Slaton and White cant be stopped.WVU was on a low last year from the loss to LVille. The Mountaineers will be ready this time.Sorry USF! WVU 38 USF 17
