AP poll has USF at No. 20
Another week, another nine-spot drop. USF fell from 11th to 20th in the Associated Press poll after losing it second game in a row Saturday, 22-15 at Connecticut. The Huskies made their AP Top 25 debut at No. 16.
So Auburn has a worse record than the Bulls at 6-3, and lost to the Bulls head-to-head, but the Tigers are ranked ahead of the Bulls in both polls. Same with a three-loss Florida team, whose loss this week came against a Georgia team that jumped back into the top 10. There are four three-loss SEC teams in the poll, with South Carolina and Tennessee in the bottom three. None of USF's remaining four opponents are getting so much as one vote in the AP poll.
USF is ranked No. 20 in the new Harris Poll, dropping eight spots from No. 12 last week.
The BCS standings, by the way, are embargoed until 8 p.m. -- didn't know that last week when I posted a link to the updated standings last week. So expect a BCS update around 8, even if you smart hackers can figure out the new standings earlier than that. My guess is USF in the high teens ...

Times sportswriter Greg Auman, who covers USF, will post news and thoughts on the Bulletin and we invite your participation in the comments area.
Was that the ESPNU link? How can they "embargo" when it's been getting posted there in the late afternoon on Sunday? No hacking involved. If anyone's breaking the embargo, it's ESPN.

BCS is going to have us at 15. Computers have us 12 -- Coaches have us 21 -- Harris has us 18.
They obviously haven't seen our kicker or rush defense.
We aren't even close to the 15th best team in the country.
We will lose another one.

As stupid as it might sound. We could get to 8 in the BCS and be guarenteed an at large bid if we won out. The computers really like us because Auburn keeps winning... and West VA keeps winning. Auburn schedule is half decent -- They got Georgia and Alabama down the line and West VA winning out or losing helps our cause either way. from 15 to 8 isn't that big of a stretch with those two wins.
I have seen crazier things.

Looks like we are #18 on the BCS poll. I am the biggest USF fan that I know, but I have to agree with the rankings. It was a dream when we were #2 a couple of weeks ago, but come on, did we REALLY belong that high??? I think we definitely fit somewhere between 15-20, which is a very good ranking. Obviously I would like if we were still undefeated, which we should be, but a 6-2 record is not bad AT ALL and I am still very proud of our team.

What scares me is that we are suppose to be getting better as the year goes on.
I still have faith in the team. It is not just us with these losses. There are a lot of teams that are losing to teams they are suppose to beat.
Rutgers was a tough one, but very close and attainable. Last night was tough also. There are some things that can be corrected.
Kicking game worries me the most however. I stuck with DA after Auburn. But after last night I want to see a change. If we only needed three points with a minute to go last night we would have won.

USF doesn't deserve to be ranked. You can beat ELon and FAu. What a joke, overrated. Schedule Armwood High.

Pretty cool to be ranked ahead of 101 other D1 programs, including USC, Florida, and Wisconsin.
If you would have told me before the season, we'd be 6-2 and ranked #18 after 8 weeks, I'd have been ecstatic.
Go Bulls! Beat the Bearcats!
Oh, and Go Auburn, WVU, FAU, UCF, UNC, and Elon. O yeah!
How does USF-FSU in the Meineke sound to you guys?

tj, a jim leavitt-coached team plays up or down to its competition... which means, we would probably have to take a high school program like armwood to overtime if we wanted to beat them.. "IF" we wanted to..
