Bulls fall to No. 18 in BCS, ahead of Gators
USF continues to get its highest national rankings in the standings that matter most, falling to 18th in the new Bowl Championship Standings released Sunday night. USF is No. 20 in the AP and Harris polls and 21st in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll, but the Bulls are ranked higher in the BCS because its computer ratings have USF ranked 12th, despite two losses in the last two weeks.
So even with Saturday's loss at Connecticut, the Bulls can still say they're the highest ranked team in the state of Florida; the Gators' loss to Georgia knocked them farther, falling nine spots to No. 20. Connecticut moved up 10 spots in the BCS standings to 13th, while West Virginia leads all Big East teams at No. 7.

Times sportswriter Greg Auman, who covers USF, will post news and thoughts on the Bulletin and we invite your participation in the comments area.
What a joke, 2 straight losses to nobodys. USF should not be ranked. Well to the cellar.

USF and the Pizza Bowl.
Its like Pepperoni and Cheese.
Destiny baby - Destiny.
I guess we could head to the Tire Bowl.
Is there a conference that has a worse Bowl Line up than the Big East?
The only thing that was missing from these dreadful losses was Pat Julmiste.
Oh god. Where is Pat Julmiste.

6-2 #18 in the BCS and all ya'll can do is whine and complain like a bunch of spoiled kids! I will be there saturday tailgating and cheering on my BULLS like I am every home game and even some road trips every season! The BULLS can still win out and have a great season and go to a bowl game. Whichever bowl it is, I will be there just like the last two times. The focus is beating Cincy at homecoming and supporting the student athletes. Do not call me a casual fan and say i don't care, I do. If you don't like the Bulls, don't go to the games, don't watch on tv, don't read the paper, don't run your mouths so much when we know ya'll couldn't do any better. I don't even get Cee sayin' he's a Bulls fan and NEVER EVER has anything positive to say. Always running down cjl and calling the players thugs and no talent, what a coward to hide behind your computer and say totally stupid and hateful things. I enjoy watching the Bulls and will be a fan and booster til death. GO BULLS!!!!

I am season ticket holder too. I'll be there on Saturday.
I think CJL has had some set backs these last two weeks. He needs to pull it together.
Haven't been this disappointed since watching Greenberg's basketball teams perform their annual collapse down the stretch.
We just need to stop with the penalties and get some inside rush defense.

Way to say it steve oneal!
While I agree with much of what some folks say (expecially about the kicking game and not being able to stop runners like ray rice and andre dixon), I disagree with the churlishly negative way they say it.
But what the hell, it's a free country, eh? That's what's so great about the internet - we're free to appear as ignorant as a stump without anyone digging us up.
If anybody's coming up this way for the Syracuse or Pitt games, let me know.
UCF 21, USM 10 at the half - Go Knights! Make our victory look good.

Being the best team in Florida isnt saying much this year.
Posted by: Kyle | October 28, 2007 at 09:32 PM
steve, being a USF bulls fan isnt always about throwing your hands up in the air like a participant in a gay pride festival and looking at things with green and gold glasses.. i am more of a fan and support of this program than you will ever be. i'm an alum and a huge financial supporter of this team.. it is difficult to watch your hard earned money go down the toilet when incompetence of someone leading your team is the only thing you can blame it on. the actions of this fool cannot be defended.. ask the media who tried to get a simple interview out of him after the game how wonderful of a person this man is.. he is quite possibly the worst representative of this university outside of kevin federline.
Posted by: cee | October 28, 2007 at 09:33 PM
cee, we need proof of this financial support. If you are so against Leavitt, then why do you support the team? If I'm Doug Woolard and I see money coming into the program, I'm going to see it as a sign the program is headed in the right direction, not a condemnation of the coach.
And since when does being a donor give you better insight into something?
Posted by: Dave W | October 28, 2007 at 09:39 PM
Dave, i do not need to justify my donations with financial records to appease you. just know that i donate to the program and i am here to stay. to answer your question, i support this PROGRAM, not the people (jim and his circus of clowns) that make the decisions for it. everything that this program has failed to accomplish rests on the head of jim leavitt. this guy falls flat on his face and we, as a university and community, get the egg on our face as he runs away from having to deal with the media. what a jerk.
Posted by: cee | October 28, 2007 at 09:50 PM
Cee,
Without Jim Leavitt, we would be trying to make the playoffs..in division 2.
Posted by: Andy | October 28, 2007 at 09:56 PM
Yup.
I think we have only had 2 losing seasons in 11 years Cee.
Posted by: Ari | October 28, 2007 at 10:03 PM
Not to mention that we'd have to pay at least twice as much for a coach half as good.
Posted by: nybullsfan | October 28, 2007 at 10:08 PM
what do you guys think our chances are of getting back in the top 10 and getting a BCS bowl game?
Posted by: | October 28, 2007 at 10:49 PM
Leavitt handles losses worse than Meyer. At least Meyer is civil. The only person in Tampa worse at interviews is Grothe in his constant uhs...ums...where am I?
Posted by: woot | October 28, 2007 at 11:27 PM
Cee, so you are the biggest fan and a huge financial supporter of the program. I am surprised that they did not listen to you when they called to get your opinion mr big donor. And I guess you must know who I am since you know for a fact that you are a bigger financial supporter and more of a fan than me. No it's just you running your chicken sh*t mouth without any facts to back it up. My view from my 8 50 yard line club level seats is just wonderful and has been for the past 8 years. There are approximately 100 div 1 schools behind us and how many have only been playing football for only 11yrs? We have accomplished so much more than any other team in such a short time it is amazing! The future of this program is just going to get better and I'm glad I'm having so much fun being able to witness all of the excitement. Coach Leavitt is a big reason for the success of this program. So, cee don't say what you can't back up. You are pathetic with your OBSESSION about CJL. You are NOT A FAN(not even a casual fan). You sound like a really unhappy, bitter person. Chill out and try to have some fun, life's to short. GO BULLS!!!

Woot, solid win against Southern Miss for UCF.
24k looked platinum baby.

Ceeyore, the old grey Donkey, stood by the side of the stream, and looked at himself in the water.
"Pathetic," he said. "That's what it is. Pathetic."
He turned and walked slowly down the stream for twenty yards, splashed across it, and walked slowly back on the other side. Then he looked at himself in the water again.
"As I thought," he said. "No better from this side. But nobody minds. Nobody cares. Pathetic, that's what it is."

When stuck in the river, it is best to dive and swim to the bank yourself before someone drops a large stone on your chest in an attempt to hoosh you there.
Posted by: Ceeyore | October 29, 2007 at 12:20 AM
Ari,
Yea, he looked great. 40+ carries though. Thats tough. I wish that team showed up at Raymond James. I feel like a Cubs fan but maybe next year...or the Papa John's.
Posted by: woot | October 29, 2007 at 12:29 AM
Woot,
You don't want to play us again. Its time to move on.
Posted by: Ari | October 29, 2007 at 01:05 AM
cee may be the only "huge financial supporter" who rants and raves on the internet rather than just pick up the phone and call Doug Woolard or President Genshaft. Maybe cee= Frank Morsani? Somehow I doubt it.

The way this has all went down is really unfortunate for the fans.....rising to #2 so quickly gave us so much hope and had everyone dreaming of something that was very unlikely. It sucks that we have been brought back into reality like this. I was pumped up more than anyone, and completely disgusted after these two losses. We had things go our way at Auburn and against WVU, and then things went against us against Rutgers and UConn. I am having trouble envisioning any excitement when we get to some average bowl, but whatever happens, I'm sure we will all support our team...we must! I do worry that this may have been the best we will be for awhile and we may have missed our chance. We may have a lot of players leaving after the season.

Kyle, the sad part is USF couldn't beat Miami, UF or FSU. So I would put them at 4th best in the state.
Posted by: | October 29, 2007 at 11:36 AM
Ari,
I am going to use USF logic to prove that UCF is better than USF. UCF beat NC state. NC State beat Virginia. Virginia beat Maryland. Maryland beat Rutgers. Rutgers beat USF. That's all I've got.
Posted by: Woot | October 29, 2007 at 01:15 PM
Wait, I didn't need the Maryland/Rutgers game. Uconn lost to Virginia too.
Posted by: woot | October 29, 2007 at 01:23 PM
I say it before and I say it again:
USF is terrorist school with a football problem!

I'm with you, Steve--cee is a little raincloud we all have to endure:
"Tut, tut, it's always looking like rain."
