Saturday's USF-Central Florida game is officially sold out, giving the Bulls their second consecutive capacity crowd at Raymond James Stadium.
USF will distribute the last remaining student seats Tuesday at 6 p.m., but no companion seats will be sold and no tickets are otherwise available for sale. As recently as Sunday, USF had about 400 tickets available through a three-game mini-plan, but those packages have sold out as well. About 2,500 student tickets were left after tickets were distributed Monday on USF's satellite campuses in St. Petersburg, Lakeland and Sarasota.
Of its remaining two home games after Saturday, USF said Cincinnati returned 1,200 lower-bowl tickets from its allotment and those are now available, but are expected to disappear quickly. USF had its first sellout two weeks ago, with 67,012 fans watching the Bulls beat then-No. 5 West Virginia.

Times sportswriter Greg Auman, who covers USF, will post news and thoughts on the Bulletin and we invite your participation in the comments area.
Yeah Woot, Take that.
Thanks Dave.

Actually woot, I would argue that Grothe's completion % would be 5 points higher if not for drops (I know that doesn't help build the arguement that we have a great team, but his stats are somewhat misleading). His biggest problem is when he gets too hurried. You'll notice that his best plays, like the 55 yd TD to Carlton Mitchell, are when he scrambles and then takes time to set himself and look down field. This is how he breaks many of his long runs and long throws.
He doesn't have a JaMarcus Russell cannon and he doesn't run like Pat White. But he still is 14-4 in his career. Must be something in the water

Ari,
Go easy on Auburn. USF beat them once. They have a strong tradition, they play in the best conference in football, had arguably the best running back in college football history (Bo Jackson) and should have been the national champs a few years ago when they were undefeated. You can't talk about them like they're
a community college.
Steve,
Grothe probably will rush for 100 because he's a horrible passer.
Posted by: Woot | October 10, 2007 at 09:33 AM
Someone give the gator fan a dictionary so he can look up "viable".
Posted by: mark | October 10, 2007 at 09:14 AM
Hey woot. Yes 80 yards is good for a USF back. We will take it all day long for Jarmar Taylor, Mike Ford, and Ben Williams. 3 backs with 80 yards each is good enough.
And when 2 of the 3 backs don't play like last Saturday, one will go for 150+ and Grothe will go for over 100.
I would rather have that, than to rely on one person to carry a team.
Good observation.

How did the Gators lose to Auburn at HOME..?
That big ole stadium you got -- and you couldn't handle 2-2 Auburn?
How?
Posted by: Ari | October 09, 2007 at 11:34 PM
As he can't say it, I will: GA was clear about who returned the tickets:
"Of its remaining two home games after Saturday, USF said Cincinnati returned 1,200 lower-bowl tickets from its allotment and those are now available, but are expected to disappear quickly."
Posted by: | October 09, 2007 at 08:52 PM
Hey morons, go to Stubhub .... tickets are going for a Whopping $48. Wow, what a huge game
Posted by: Buck Naked | October 09, 2007 at 08:13 PM
Kevin Smith will get 24 yards on 24 carries. I guess that is where the 24K thing comes from.
They may call him B27 after he gets BEAT DOWN by T-Mac (#27)!

Welcome us back to mediocrity, "it's not so bad here"???
Is that supposed to be a slap in the face to USF or UCF?
I don't know, maybe it's a boost for UCF, striving for mediocrity.
See, even if we lose, even if we lose the rest of our games this year, we have gone yet another year without going 0-11. Honestly, UCF fans will eat it up if you guys beat USF. It will be hard on us, just having to hear it, but our goal will not be hurt. We are trying to win the Big East conference and play in a BCS bowl game. This game really has no bearing on that.
Good luck, have a safe trip down for those that are coming. Hopefully mediocrity treats you well.

11 years to reach the top 10 .... 11 centuries to be recognized as a viable school by the Princeton Review ... Go Gators! (www.GatorAlert.com)

JL- I hate the UF fans coming over here. This is our blog for our news and to support the Bulls. It's not a message board- a lot of what they are putting up belongs on Rivals or Scout, not here.
Posted by: Dave | October 09, 2007 at 04:52 PM
Hey Josh, it's not an article. It's a blog. I doubt this gets printed in the paper. And the funniest part of this thread was pointed out by JL. As I said yesterday, to a Harvard grad, nobody cares what school you go to in Florida- it's a state school in the south, it doesn't look good, no matter what the numbers say (look at the BEAST academic breakdown- we're right in the middle of most categories, on the top in some).
As per the Smith discussion, also as I said yesterday- he'll probably get his yards, but with a much lower YPC and I don't think Israel is going to play well at all, so the offense as a whole won't be productive. Smith is a good player, but the UCF O-line is pretty good at run-blocking (at least against mid-level teams- including UT).

I must admit that I LOVE the fact that UF/other guys are coming into this blog!
Awesome!

who let the dogs out?
dont taz me bro
Posted by: ron mexico | October 09, 2007 at 04:27 PM
The Bulls will be the only Florida team in a BCS bowl this year.
Posted by: Andy | October 09, 2007 at 04:26 PM
"Josh, sorry you didn't get into UF or FSU...don't hate"
Hahahahaha
These guys are hilarious! I was in a meeting not long ago, and a UF grad started comparing UF to MIT!!! 2 of the VP’s in the meeting (one that went to MIT) couldn’t help but laugh!! It was hilarious!!!!
It’s a state school! Hahaha
I love it when someone says..we are the 50th, 40th, 60th or whatever in the nation! Silly!
Even USF has that we are the 60th (or so, not remember exactly) research institution in the nation. I guess money-wise we are, but saying that is ridiculous.
UF fans look VERY stupid saying that. Please stop. hahhhhhahahhaaahha
Get into UF!!!! Hhahhahaha. I would say that about Stanford, PENN, MIT, etc…Florida?????? Hahhahahahaha
Posted by: JL | October 09, 2007 at 04:24 PM
161ish ha!
Saturday evening I will be happy to welcome USF back to mediocrity. Don't worry Bulls it not that bad here.
Posted by: woot | October 09, 2007 at 04:06 PM
Ron Mexico,
Go back to your dogs.
Posted by: USF Fan | October 09, 2007 at 04:06 PM
what happened to the basketball team
Posted by: ron mexico | October 09, 2007 at 04:05 PM
So, lets just say that Smith does put up 150 on us. What's the total for UCF's offense? 161ish?
He has been getting a lot of yards, he has also been getting a lot of carries(guessing about 25-30 per game). I think I would be concerned if our only offensive playmaker was still in a game that we were dominating in the fourth quarter, and getting hurt.
Shoulder didn't seem too bad last week, but how many fumbles did he have before last week?
Louis Gachette will bring the pain when/if Smith gets through the line.
Posted by: Adam | October 09, 2007 at 04:02 PM
Man, these fans of other teams in Florida seem real jealous of that 0 in our loss column.
Grow up Gators and Noles.
We are starting tradition at USF, you guys seem to just hop on the bandwagon and claim to be die-hards.
Posted by: Kyle | October 09, 2007 at 03:59 PM
I didn't say he would go for 100. I said he would go for 150-200.
Smith is a different type of runner than the W.V. style. He probably won't look as fast as Pat White and Slaton. However,it will be hard for USF's defense to tell by only seeing his backside.
Posted by: woot | October 09, 2007 at 03:59 PM
Those 90K at the swamp seemed to help you a lot in that game against Auburn..
How do you lose to Auburn?
Posted by: Ari | October 09, 2007 at 03:58 PM
24k? That is the worst nickname I have heard. That cant seriously be his nickname can it?
On a side note, Kevin Smith is a great director. War Clerks!
Posted by: Reality | October 09, 2007 at 03:55 PM
Dana, FYI The Swamp (BHG Stadium) seats over 90,000. Doak Campbell has a capacity of 82,300.
Posted by: | October 09, 2007 at 03:47 PM
"24K" isn't playing East Carolina this weekend (or for that matter Texas). He will not go for 100 against this defense. Steve Slaton and Pat White will make him look even slower than he is to our defense.
Posted by: CJ Harmon | October 09, 2007 at 03:39 PM
I think it is safe to call lady Bulls heifers.
Posted by: woot | October 09, 2007 at 03:31 PM
And what are the capacities for the UF and FSU stadiums? Do they seat 67,000? It's kind of a huge deal for an 11 year-old college team to be selling out a pro stadium.
Posted by: Dana | October 09, 2007 at 03:31 PM
fake tickets for this game? please?
Posted by: ron mexico | October 09, 2007 at 03:28 PM
well it beats the 3000 empty seats last week in Fort Lauderdale. I guess they dont have cars at USF or gas. Have team cant travel. Go Bulls. What is a lady bull called?
Posted by: ron mexico | October 09, 2007 at 03:23 PM
Josh, sorry you didn't get into UF or FSU...don't hate
Posted by: Joe | October 09, 2007 at 03:21 PM
the last 3 gator sell outs had tickets in the window. at kick off
Posted by: ron mexico | October 09, 2007 at 03:20 PM
Isn't 80 yards good for a USF back?
24k will drop 150-200
Posted by: woot | October 09, 2007 at 03:18 PM
Kevin Smith is going to get shut down. Maybe 80 yards with a bunch of carries.
Posted by: SRQ Steve | October 09, 2007 at 03:07 PM
Wow, a sell out and envious fans of other programs. I love it. I guess since UF is going to be trying to avoid a 3-game skid the next time they play, they have nothing better to do but come and mock us.
If you didn't care, the headline says it all, yet you clicked on it, read the whole thing, got all the way to the bottom, and felt compelled to make a smart*** remark.
Hmm, seems like 2 years ago, you wouldn't have done that. Threatened much?
Having a sell out is huge for us.
For the person that made a comment about Greg's writing, I think you will find it interesting that Greg is actually a UF grad. Greg does a great job of keeping us up to date. If you aren't a USF fan, you can ignore this blog, trust me, we won't miss you.
With your spare time, you can tell Urban when the appropriate time to call a time out is, or maybe let Tebow cry on your shoulder. Brandon Cox is a beast huh?
Posted by: Adam | October 09, 2007 at 03:03 PM
Beware of counterfeit tickets...
ESPN has a story about 100 LSU fans that bought phony tickets for Saturday's game against Florida.
Posted by: Go Bulls | October 09, 2007 at 02:45 PM
Gators lose 2 games and their lifelong fans are now jumping on the Bulls bandwagon.
Posted by: | October 09, 2007 at 02:38 PM
According to the USF atheletics web site, it was indeed Cincy who returned 1,200 lower bowl tickets.
To josh - a durr, durr, durr, durr. Our program isn't nearly as old or established as either UF or FSU. We are just now creating tradition. Heck, it's helpful to have the word out there that the game is sold out because it's a pretty hot ticket and there many people out there still looking for them.
Posted by: Mel | October 09, 2007 at 02:35 PM
Exactly Josh.. shut the F##K up !!!
Bulls football is THE story this year..
( And this is coming from a lifelong Gator fan )...
Posted by: Tim | October 09, 2007 at 02:29 PM
I'm going to USF/Uconn, any bulls fan going??
Posted by: Lindsey | October 09, 2007 at 02:19 PM
josh, shut it. UF has had a football team for 100 years. USF, 11. It's a big deal.
Posted by: | October 09, 2007 at 01:53 PM
Have they never sold out a game before? FSU and UF sell out every week for about the last 10 years. I can't believe this is worthy of an article.
Posted by: josh | October 09, 2007 at 01:46 PM
Great journalism! You would have failed the Reporting class at UF. It's a weed-out course. You should differentiate between Cincy and UCF.
Posted by: Bo | October 09, 2007 at 01:41 PM
Does this mean that USF has sold all 500 of the 3 game mini-plans? If so that was very fast.
Posted by: USF_Grouper | October 09, 2007 at 12:48 PM
G.A.
How many tix did Cincy orginially get?
Posted by: Matt | October 09, 2007 at 12:20 PM
Ticketmaster has Cincy tickets best available in section 230, closer seats then when I bought my tickets last week.
Posted by: | October 09, 2007 at 11:56 AM
Play Nick Capogna.
