Walker out 2-4 weeks with knee sprain
Senior offensive tackle Walt Walker will miss 2 to 4 weeks as he recovers from a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee, suffered in Thursday's 30-27 loss at Rutgers, USF announced Monday.
No position has been depleted by injuries the way offensive line has for the Bulls, with starting guard Matt Huners yet to play after undergoing knee surgery in spring and starting center Nick Capogna playing in a limited role since injuring his knee in USF's season opener. Tackle Danny Tolley, a key reserve, is taking a medical redshirt this season due to a lingering groin injury.
Senior tackle Jared Carnes filled in for Walker in Thursday's game, but the Bulls gave up five of their season-high seven sacks after Walker left the game, so it's unknown what five the Bulls will line up with. Huners has yet to play this season, which would logically point to a medical redshirt, but if he's healthy enough to play, he has experience at tackle and would be one option. We'll know more after Monday's evening practice.

Times sportswriter Greg Auman, who covers USF, will post news and thoughts on the Bulletin and we invite your participation in the comments area.
Glad to see that is all the time that he will miss. When it happened I thought he was going to be out a lot longer than that.

That's terrible news- I knew he was hurt right away, though. Hopefully it's the 2 week injury, and not a month-long one. We need him badly.

You can't blame Walt being taken out for the all the sacks. If you watched the game it wasn't Carnes who caused the sacks...
