Just plain Daffy: Oregon builds lead to 46-14
I'm running out of Duck-related puns. Another USF turnover has led to another Oregon touchdown -- Ducks quarterback Justin Roper threw for his fourth touchdown, an 8-yard toss to Jonathan Stewart to give the Ducks a 46-14 lead on USF. Three turnovers in a span of five offensive plays have led to 21 Oregon points.
Stewart has set the Sun Bowl rushing record with what is now 209 yards on 18 carries. The record in 74 years of Sun Bowls for points in a game is 50 points -- USF will be challenged to avoid that infamy. The last time the Bulls gave up this many points was 2001 in a 52-21 loss at Utah -- perhaps they should just avoid the Mountain Time Zone.

Times sportswriter Greg Auman, who covers USF, will post news and thoughts on the Bulletin and we invite your participation in the comments area.
How totally disappointing.

Lets start the Grothe Heisman Talk, Better yet, how about the USF for National Championship talk, haha!

We are a pretty good team. We are capable of playing with 100 of the 120 or so D-1 teams -- but when you get to the top you are going to be exposed.
Are problems.
1. D Line is WAY to small. You can't stop the run when you are averaging like 270 up front.
2. Grothe throws WAY to many INTs. I count 3 pick sixes this year alone.
3. You have got to be able to run the ball.. We haven't been able to run the ball against a good team all year long.

This is a talented team that does not take games seriously. Coach... you own that problem completely! Maybe a few less tourist activities and photo ops with babies and a few more drills and discipline were in order here.
Hope the guys had a good "vacation" though....
Matt: you need to start to care or move on boy.

Bottom line...USF was completely outcoached. They used our speedy USF defense against us. Our consistent over pursuit of the ball was taken advantage of by Oregon continually calling misdirection plays. How could we not get any pressure on a freshman QB making his first start? Even after halftime, our coaches appeared to make no adjustments. Secondly, our Offensive line was crushed in the run game. You can't have a chance to win a game when your top rusher has 5 attempts for 8 yards midway thru the game. We can only go up from here.

I hope we do better next season. Go Bulls :-(

Not only did this "Top 25" team get whooped by an unranked team, but they got beat by a Freshman quarterback.
Perhaps now the USF band wagoners will go back in their holes and shut up about who's the number one school in the state.
Totally overrated.

What a total embarrassment!
Our worst performance of the year.
How did the coaches prepare this team for the Ducks?
I can't believe it!
I am so disappointed!
I am so sorry our seniors had to go out on this note.

SEC Rules- we still beat you guys in a more meaningful game.
Total Bull- we still made the 2nd best bowl in Florida. There is no way an argument can be made putting FSU or UM or UCF or FAU ahead of us.

USF is the biggest joke in college football history. Oregon was playing a fifth-string quarterback with the worst offense and defense in the PAC-10 (since Dixon went out). I assumed the Ducks would lose the rest of their games with the loss of Dixon, since they couldn't even get past the 50-yard line against UCLA. Yet they trashed USF like nobody's business and exposed the Big East as a fraud. How did South Florida win 9 games?

USF is not that bad. Oregon is just that good.

Don't feel too bad. the duckies made Michigan look just as bad. I believe the Bulls are the best team in florida. If the duck coaches had their quarterback depth chart right and had a suitable spread quarterback ready when Dixon went down, they would have made LSU look just as bad in the NCG.
