Lelo Prado's USF baseball team has been picked to finish third in the Big East in a preseason vote of the league's coaches. The Bulls, who will host the conference tournament in Clearwater in May, were picked third out of 12 teams, trailing only St. John's and Louisville. Senior infielder Dexter Butler was the only USF player named to the 15-player all-Big East preseason team.
USF opens its season Feb. 29 with a spring training exhibition against the New York Yankees at Legends Field in Tampa.

Times sportswriter Greg Auman, who covers USF, will post news and thoughts on the Bulletin and we invite your participation in the comments area.

I believe its Indiana State, aka the Sycamores that we open against. Not the Hoosiers.

Paul Wall-
The Yankees v. Bulls is at Legends Field, and all tickets are run through the Yankees people. Public tickets are on sale as of the 11th according to their website, but I got 2 tickets from a season ticket holder already for this game...

Greg, this is WAY off topic, but is anyone doing any coverage of Kawika Mitchell coming back to play on his old home field in the playoffs when the Giants play the Bucs? I am surprised I haven't seen anything written about that. Did I just miss it?
