Safety Sinclair, ex-Gator Pupello joins Bulls
As we'd reported last month, strong safety Charlton Sinclair, who signed with USF in February but was held up by the NCAA Clearinghouse this summer, has joined the Bulls football program and is enrolled in fall classes.
USF coach Jim Leavitt, quoted in a release from USF's sports information department, called Sinclair "a very promising addition" to the program. The Bulls have two other scholarship additions for the spring semester in Pearl River Community College linebacker Kion Wilson and Florida transfer Trent Pupello, the Tampa Jefferson standout who played primarily at tight end at UF but get his first look at defensive line with the Bulls. Pupello will have to sit out the 2008 season per NCAA rules and will have two years of eligibility starting in 2009.
Sinclair could not join the Bulls in August because the NCAA questioned a replacement course he took over the summer at a small private school in Jacksonville. He has since posted qualifying scores that meet the NCAA's eligibility requirements and will still have a standard five-year window of eligibility, allowing him to redshirt this fall if necessary.

Times sportswriter Greg Auman, who covers USF, will post news and thoughts on the Bulletin and we invite your participation in the comments area.
Awesome!

Greg,
What about Carlton Hill? Now that we do not know if Grothe will ever get any better, he may be useful.

That's good news. But we still need some real beef on both the O-line and D-line if we're going to do well next year - here's hoping we get some quality recruits with speed and SIZE.
BTW: Rivals.com has picked us #22 in their preseason rankings.

They've got WVU at 7 and Kansas at 11. I hope Cincy, UCONN, 'Ville, and RU get ranked before we beat them too!
Go BULLS! BCS bound in '08!
