Spring football game set for April 12

I know you guys have blocked off the entire month of April so as to avoid potential conflicts, but now you can lock down a single date to circle: USF's spring football game has been set for 7 p.m. on April 12 at Raymond James Stadium.

Spring practice is tentatively scheduled to start March 18. It'll be a busy few weeks, with the NCAA men's basketball first round in Tampa, then the Women's Final Four at the St. Pete Times Forum (ching!) on April 6-8.

We'd told you Monday that USF wasn't in the mix for Javontae Boyd, and the Northeast defensive lineman told the Times' Bob Putnam Tuesday he committed to Kansas State. I'm never really sure what part of a sentence like that deserves the link. The kid's name? The exciting action verb? Do I hook Bob up with some underlined text?

Why would you go to Kansas State?

Miami to Kansas State is a long long long way to go.

He's from St. Petersburg. Again, I don't think USF was an option.

Gerg, thanks for the update... do you have anything lined up for senior sign day and the days leading up to it. Now that our basketball team has fallen apart its back to reading every CFB artical i can find.

Of course Greg has plans for Signing Day:

1. Cocktails at Olive Garden on BBD
2. Cigars at Excalibur
3. Dinner at the Auman's residence, courtest of Mrs. Auman.

AND WE'RE ALL INVITED!!!!1!one!!

Nothing against Mrs. Auman or her cooking, but I'll probably

1. Blog all morning with remarkably incremental updates on the signings as they happen.
2. Go to Splitsville, where Josh Newberg's doing a live radio show from 2 to 6, potentially with some coaches.
3. Talk to Leavitt, finish story.
4. Exhale.

Greg - The coaches will be showing up at Splitsville sometime around 5:00 or so. Stay tuned for more details.

(I'm the Chair of the Tampa Alumni Chapter - we're sponsoring the Signing Day Mixer along with the Bulls Club, that night from 5:00pm to 7:00pm).

Jim's all over it, to no surprise. Keep us posted.

Night Game for the Spring Ball Game !!!

Beat the sun's heat.

Go BULLS !!!

Can't wait for the game. It's impossible to watch too much football.

K-State is a good option for a football player...who likes to be bored out of his mind. Whenever I see Florida guys go odd places when they better geographical options, it tells me that Prince (K-State coach) is a great recruiter and that Boyd has no idea what he's in for. Actually, at a place like that, football players are BMOC and big-time in the whole town. College is about experience, and I bet if you're winning anywhere, you'll have a good experience.

We have stopped recruiting him because of his grades. He wont make k states recruiting class either by start of next season.

Greg, I heard Eric Setser was placed on scholarship is this true? If so good it's nice to see a hard working kid rewarded.
