Another close loss: Bulls fall at DePaul

A lack of depth continues to keep the Bulls from sustaining leads in Big East play, as USF led DePaul by 16 in the first half and 11 at halftime, only to see the Blue Demons pull away to a 69-61 win on Saturday.

The Bulls, who have dropped 10 straight, got 18 points and 14 rebounds from Kentrell Gransberry, 13 points from Solomon Bozeman and 11 from Dominique Jones. Down by one point with 8:46 to play, USF saw DePaul pull away with perimeter shooting, hitting seven 3-pointers in the second half.

USF's other starting guards struggled from the field, as Chris Howard didn't score a point and Jesus Verdejo went 0-for-6 on 3-pointers.

USF's women's team also lost on the road, allowing Cincinnati to end its eight-game losing streak by beating the Bulls 74-67 despite 27 points from guard Shantia Grace. The Bulls came out flat as the Bearcats opened the game with a 13-0 run and never trailed. This was a key game for USF to put itself in position to make the Big East tournament and a major dropoff after the Bulls knocked off No. 25 DePaul last weekend.

We lose another game due to poor peremeter defense. The basket is the size of the ocean when there isnt a hand in your face. No athletes and no depth is a formula for diasaster aka a 10 game losing streak.

Good to see Solomon put in some points, I'm sure his confidence level isnt very high right now. Im not sure how Chris Howard scores no points with as many minutes as he plays.

Coach should just show up on gamedays and coach. Let the assistants run practice. Just recruit your shorts off!

yeah, because tons of players are just dying to play for the worst team in the Big East!!!!

I agree.... Coach should just show up on gamedays and coach.

Isn't this why we fired Bob?

FYI...Keith Brumbaugh scored 51 today for HCC in a loss to St.Pete

Its not so much the peremeter defense, its the lack of dept at the big man sport to. Once Ajaby (sp?) got the ball, he looked to get it to Gransberry even if he was gaurded by the all of Chicago. No confidence whats so ever in the big men other than Kentrell. Also what happened w/ Holmes? Didn't see him out there until the final mins? Lastly, Bozeman needs to stop his whining on the court. He claps his hands and complains at everything that doesn't go his way like a 5th grader. Work on your 3 point shooting and getting the ball to Kentrell or Jones, unfortunatly there are no other options on this team right now.
