Bulls pick up Glades Central lineman

The Bulls picked up a late addition when Jatavious Jackson, who played both offensive and defensive line at Belle Glade Glades Central, signed. Jackson (6 feet 4, 280 pounds) signed with Florida State last year but did not enroll.

Was he a big recruit for the noles? Or did we get another cast off?

Why did he not enroll? Academic reasons?

I hope not. Our APR sucks and I would hate for it to drop below 900. Don't we lose scholarships then?

Looks like a decent kid. He had offers from LSU, Clemson, WVU, FSU, and USF. 3-star OL

I looked him up on last years FSU commitment list and he was rated 3-start, if that means anything. The OL recruits we signed this year were 2-star recruits.

I seem to remember we were really pursuing him. He must be a back-up plan to Shaw et al. I would also like to know why he didn't enroll.

From a football perspective, he's a big guy from a good program, and his offers would indicate that he has a high ceiling.

GA, What's up with Theo Wilson? Is he waiting til the last minute to sign or is he going elsewhere?

I only want Theo is he is in the secondary. He could be a good addition with an older safety group, especially if he redshirted. Either way though, 2009 opens up the SS spot. Is Verpeale coming back for sure? I haven't heard anything. I don't see a need for another 5-11 WR, though.

Danny will be playing this season...

Theo Wilson will be at USF. He's a cornerback. Was just a procedural problem that kept them from announcing him.

Jackson had a clearing house issue that was found out last summer after he signed. He had to clear up an issue in a class but is supposedly fully qualified now and ready to play.

He was looking to be one of the gem's of last year's class before he signed with FSU at the last minute.

I think its safe to say that we are the deepest we have ever been.

Not to sidetrack, but I just watched that George Baker highlight reel and...he's a fast man. It's hard to imagine he's playing against other Miami area players, as he blows by them like they are in quicksand.

Just watched it since seeing your comment.. wow, you are not kidding! He does look like you can put him anywhere on the field but the coach in the highlight says he wants be put at Corner which I think will work out fine. See for yourselves:

With the loss of Anthony Jones and us missing out on Tommy Streeter and Tay Odoms. Also the unexpected signing of George Baker, Theo Wilson could be brought in as a Slot receiver, the Ean Randolph-type player we've been missing
