Are we good? The best of Leavitt in '07-08

No, not his biggest wins, his escapes from icy postgame Powerade showers, or his most enraged sideline pyrotechnics.

This is more fun than that. This is Kevin Smetana over at USF's student paper, the Oracle, compiling a great video of classic moments from Jim Leavitt press conferences over the past year. Watching the clips, I'm reminded that Leavitt was -- relatively speaking -- as at ease this past season as he's been since I've been on the beat.

For those of you who don't regularly watch Leavitt behind the microphone, understand some things. First, few things will set him off like the interruption of a cellphone ringing, or worse, playing some jingle. An accent, even a slight one, can be somewhat jarring for him. He can be strangely contemplative, funny out of nowhere. And no, he's not thinking about anything but the next practice.

Greg,
Is Difton no longer committed to USF?

You have to keep track of Leavitt's hair throughout the video.

The WVU press conference was a Jim Leavitt instant classic.

At least he has a sense of humor... I saw a compliation of Belichick's pressers on ESPN last year... dour... grumpy... and about as forthcoming as Leavitt. Imagine being a Patriot's beat writer.

Then again, who wouldn't want to cover the University of Sun and Fun ??

great find, thanks for passing it on and for your insightful clues.

Typical liberal biased media coverage! Did you intentionally leave out the fact that Leavitt only spoke in haiku last year, Greg? Pfffffft... I'll stick to FoxNews for my Bulls coverage from now on. They're fair and balanced, you know. They don't pack their programming with filthy liberals like CNN does (Tony Snow and Glenn Beck not withstanding).

That was a good compilation, except it didn't have the 23-second one that GA transcribed for us.
