Bucs, others pass on USF's Jenkins
Twenty-one picks have come and gone, and former USF cornerback Mike Jenkins hasn't heard his named called. Most glaringly among the teams who have passed on Jenkins is Tampa Bay, which had a chance to draft the hometown cornerback and instead selected Kansas' Aqib Talib, whose stock had dropped because of reports of three positive tests for marijuana.
Jenkins is getting a lot of talk as one of the top players available. How long will he have to wait before his name is called?

Times sportswriter Greg Auman, who covers USF, will post news and thoughts on the Bulletin and we invite your participation in the comments area.
Why why why why
I hate the Cowboys so much. It's a great pick for them, and Mike is going to make some Pro Bowls for them, but I really hate the Cowboys.
It will be cool to see two of USF's best in the same secondary.

Can't believe the bucs passed on him for the kid from Kansas.
What an insult.

USF sucks

The Bucs will regret their choice once he is sitting in jail and Mike is headed to the pro-bowl

Yet another addition in the long list of why I hate the Bucs:
1. Glazers whining for new stadium....OR ELSE!
2. Community Investment Tax Stadium
3. Treating Andre Hall like they did
4. Promising to take Mike Jenkins, then backing out at the last minute to pick his competition with shady background.
This year, I hope and pray that the Bucs go 0-16.

As a life long Cowboys fan, I couldn't be happier they snagged Jenkins.
CO BULLS!
GO 'BOYS!!

I admit, I'm extremely disappointed the Bucs didn't take Jenkins in the first round, but the guy they got isn't exactly chopped liver. I think Mike would have been fantastic here, and I think he will be fantastic in Dallas. It will be nice to see him and Henry in the same secondary. I'll continue to hold out hope that the Bucs grab Williams sometime tomorrow...and Mike Lakeland, relax buddy and get a new news source because your last two points are inaccurate.

Blake - last two points inaccurate? How about no.
Andre Hall had a problem with the Bucs' playbook, I know that. But the way they let him go and were hurting for an RB was not cool.
As far as Jenkins, how many news articles did we read about how the Bucs were going to take him if he were still available? Shoot, Greg had one posted here a few hours ago.
Not cool, Blake. A team is only as good as its word, and I am putting the Bucs right up there with the Pats.
BOOOO.

"As far as Jenkins, how many news articles did we read about how the Bucs were going to take him if he were still available? "
Christ, EVERY GM lies in the weeks leading up to the draft. It's called a smokescreen, people.
Many thought they would take Jenkins. They didn't. Get over it. Sheesh, some of you USF fans have the thinnest skins and most fragile egos.

Hey, chooch, 64-12.

Aqib Talib(an)?
He sounds like Bin Laden's right hand man.
Another season of Gruden's horse droppings and facial contortions.
Thanks to the Easter Bunny that the Bulls play in Tampa, because the Bucs are just like their old mascot Buco Bruce - a winking fruitloop that likes to take in the bum while the inbred local rednecks cheer the Bucs on.

I'm not a Bucs fan, and this is just one more reason to dislike them--I don't suppose we can blame ownership for this, but there's not much about it to like.
