USF assistant coach Dan Hipsher will interview Friday in Boca Raton for the head coaching vacancy at Florida Atlantic, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Hipsher, who got a public endorsement for the job from coaching legend Bob Knight, is expected to be one of the final interviews for the job, along with former St. John's coach Mike Jarvis, the Post reported. Hipsher, formerly the head coach at Stetson and Akron, is the only carryover from Stan Heath's Arkansas staff to follow him last season to USF.
By coincidence, another of the finalists interviewed is former Saint Louis coach Brad Soderberg, who was hired to coach the Billikens by then-athletic director Doug Woolard, now at USF. The Post reports that FAU could have a decision made on its next coach this weekend or early next week at the latest.

Times sportswriter Greg Auman, who covers USF, will post news and thoughts on the Bulletin and we invite your participation in the comments area.
How did we let Eli Holman enroll at Detroit Mercy? Stan you need to get on those Indiana kids. We could have gotten him if we got in on Holman early enough. Detroit Mercy come'on

Sorry Greg, you type faster than me, I guess. If Stan is depending on transfers to build the program, then you might as well do what I have said all along and get rid of him.
The Noriega kid from Sarasota is the type of kid that USF needs to be getting. Shame Pena and Morrison were not on Stan's radar.

Unless USF moves to Gainesville, I don't see him coming to USF.
Nevermind you can't go from Big East school to Big East School.
Nice try though. The kid is not that good anyway.
Billy Donovan better not get this kid, or else they are going to be all over him, after the Macklin transfer and this one.....

Can't transfer from one Big East basketball program to another. Not as a walk-on, not after sitting out any number of years, not ever. Let me shoot that one down completely.

This would be a tough lost for Stan and USF.
Hipsher is not only the guru of USF's motion offense, but he is also heavily involved with player development. With so many unproven prospects joining the roster Hipsher would be really missed in that department.
Without Hipsher we would be left with Hansen and Samuels meaning we don't have any assistants on staff.
