Bucs release USF wide receiver

The Bucs have done still more roster shuffling.

First, they have signed fourth-round pick Dre Moore, a defensive tackle from Maryland, giving them two picks under contract with more than a month remaining before training camp (seventh-rounder pick Cory Boyd is the other).

We've learned that Moore's contract is a four-year deal, one that includes an escalator in the final year of the deal.

Meanwhile, in their continued effort to eliminate players and reach the 80-man training-camp limit, the
Bucs released a few more players. Among them were former USF receiver Amarri Jackson, an undrafted prospect who was signed after a strong showing after a tryout in May.

The Bucs also released receiver Charles Spiller (Alcorn State) and fullback Carl Stewart (Auburn).

Glad you couldn't stay away! Enjoy the vacation...

Amarri Jackson released?!?!?!

What is this world coming to?? The Bucs are crazy. Who wouldn't want the fourth best receiver from the third-place Big East team?

I was hoping he would make it, but honestly, I was surprised he even got to training camp. Hopefully he'll catch on in the AFL or CFL (where SJ Green is). The more professional football players we have, the better.

12:31- Amarri had the potential to be a 4th or 5th round pick at the start of the season. As it turned out, his hands somehow got worse and he wasn't as fast as we thought, possibly due to his injury. However, he's got excellent size and good athleticism (quickness and leaping ability), and when the Bucs tried him out, his hands had improved. I think he's destined to be a star in the AFL- lots of corner and fade routes to take advantage of his size (which is something we didn't really do).

That sucks for Amarri =/

There is always a spot on my flag football team...not a as a receiver because he has no hands, but we can always use a big pass rusher.

I know that nobody believes me, but I was pulling for Amari Jackson.

Why not. Guy was living a dream

If Amarri weren't one of my receivers, I would have been a first round draft pick.

Amari didn't even have the skills to play for the Knights. We turned him down.

Enough with that garbage ucfrocks, the joke's over. It's even more pathetic now that we know you're a fraud.

I know this is unrelated, but Dago pena has asked for his release from FAU. It should be granted by Tuesday and he is looking to attend a school in a bigger conference. I know we are out of scholly's, but I'm not sold thta Aris Williams wil be playing next season or for that matter Akol. Pena is a smooth shooting small forward. Small forward is a position of need for USF. Hopefully, he will re-consider USF and take a visit to Tampa. At that time Stan Heath can evaluate him and discuss what options are available to him and Williams or Akol. I hope he makes it to Tampa and Williams is granted a medical release or waiver. Pena would be another great addition to our incoming class.

USF Picked up 6 new Commits yesterday at Ray J.

1. Ricardo Dixon a 4 star CB as rated by Scout. 3 star by Rivals.

2. James Green a 3 Star WR as rated by Scout. 4 star by Rivals.

3. Victor Marc a 3 star QB as rated by Scout. 3 star by Rivals.

4. Leon Woods a 1 star WR from Lake Gibson as rated by Scout. Not rated by Rivals.

5. Demi Thompson a 1 Star DE as rated by Scout. 3 star by rivals.

6. Tyrone Williams a WLB 1 star as rated by Scout. Not rated by rivals.

The players rated 1 star on scout have not been evaluated yet.

Jason, ESPN loves Marc, Dixon, Green, Demi Thompson, and Tyrone Williams (listed at RB). All are ESPN 150 watch list players, and Marc and Dixon are Army All-Americans (I'm pretty sure they're our first!) Basically, we just blew every one of our previous classes out of the water, and can now be considered a regional power in recruiting, as many of these guys had South Carolina or Auburn offers. An incredibly productive day for USF. A lot of their evals mention that a guy is a little short for his position (Marc, Dixon, Thompson), but I think that superior athleticism and good coaching negates that problem.

Kamran Joyer was downgraded to 74, but anything in the 70s on ESPN is pretty good.

Leon Woods hasn't been evaluated, and they haven't listed his schools. If he really is 6'2" and in the 4.4/4.5 range, he's a good get. I'm just wondering if we gave up on Difton or another more well-known player.

That would make this our best recruiting class ever. Add that on top of all of the 3 and 4 star players that still hold USF in high regard. This class could be special and land in the top 25 by the time its over and done with.

This is great...

But let's wait 'til their name is on the dotted line and they're registered for classes.

great update, lets just hope they make it to signing day!
