I don't believe Adrian is related to Tom Nieto. Adrian was born in Cuba; Tom is from California.

The only hurdle for a new baseball stadium is the financial one. I know USF is moving into position to get the kind of major philanthropies necessary for the kind of stadium upgrade the Bulls want. It wouldn't surprise me if there's news within the next year or two.

Don Corleone

Is his Dad former MLB catcher Tom Nieto who played for St.L, Montreal, and Philly? The fastest way to the Show is a catcher that can hit. Does Buster Posey ring a bell? Why sign for a six-figure bonus, when he can sign for seven in two or thee seasons as Posey did. If he takes the bonus and signs now, he will be locked into that contract for four-to-six years. If he becomes a top hitting catcher, he can sign as a first rounder in 2010 with the bigger starting contract to begin his career. He will more than make up for the money lost while in school. Of course there is the risk of not panning out, and never being drafted again. If his Dad is a former MLBer, he will probably advise him to play at USF for a season or two as he did at Oral Roberts. I hope he stays for at least two seasons, and can put the Bulls baseball team on the map. GA, what is the status of the new baseball complex at USF?

Man, I would pay them to let me play pro ball. It's a frequent occurance, however, so hopefully he'll come to USF and raise his draft profile and our baseball profile.
