CG... That play was not, and never will be, practiced. You are taught to fall on the ball first, but most players will attempt to make a play on the ball. That error on the officials behalf cost USF the season. All this crap about going from #2 to nowhere was contingent upon that BS call.

Do the math... Ray Rice gets 35+ carries that game. At that point, RU would be down 14 points as we enter into the half. Do you really think Rice gets those carries when they are down by 14? Nope... And their QB would have pissed away the game for them with his weak arm.

Leavitt sure talks about pads a lot...

Great writeup, Greg!

Greg, I have a very outdated question for you. Last year, during the Rutgers game when that TD was called back for illegally moving the ball forward, the ESPN crew was suggesting that USF probably practiced that play. Now, while I believe it looked suspicious, I thought the replay provided ample evidence that it was a fluke. The players accused seemed to be trying to grab it, but their arms kept getting chopped by a RU player. Anway, my question: did you ever see USF practice that play?

Thanks Greg.
