His team faces No. 13 Kansas in two days, but USF coach Jim Leavitt got in one more dig at Central Florida on Wednesday night when asked if he was surprised that Friday night's game -- with 53,000-plus tickets sold -- isn't likely to be sold out, as Raymond James Stadium was last year against West Virginia and Central Florida.
"Fifty-two thousand isn't bad," Leavitt said. "It's more than they got at Central Florida, right? By a bunch. And that's a sellout over there, right? I'm not making comparisons, and I probably shouldn't have said those things about them the other day. I'm not taking any of it back, but I mean, they have a good program. George (O'Leary) does a good job there."
Saturday's game in Orlando drew a record crowd of 46,805 at Bright House Networks Stadium. In Tampa this week, there hasn't been quite the same buzz there was last September when No. 5 West Virginia came to town for a Friday night game on ESPN2, the Bulls' first home sellout.
"We beat Auburn on the road and we had two weeks to swell for it. ... And it was a Big East game," Leavitt said. "Fifty-two is a pretty good crowd. We had never been ranked (last year), and there was a lot of things. You beat an SEC team like that on the road, it's going to carry some weight, because we're in the South. Fifty-two thousand, if we get that many, that'd be pretty impressive. I don't see any negatives there. If we had maybe four or five thousand, I would."

Note to coach Leavitt: Watch Kansas video, some more Kansas video, and more Kansas video. Please do not embarrass us like the Oregon game. I couldn't believe how amateur and unprepared we looked in that game. Expect some surprises like Rutgers pulled; expect rushing up the middle; and expect Deep Middle pass routes that expose our Tampa 2 defense. We MUST beat Kansas and I hope you have prepared our BULLS... GO BULLS!!! Also, mix up the offense it seems like we run the same damn plays that the defense easily picks up... How about a random un-ran play every now and then.

We need to win, and that requires, among other things, a coach is is 500% concentrating on the next game, rather than the last one.

He just won't let up. That sort of thing can come around to bite you, though. I sure hope he and the coaches are really concentrating on Kansas, even as they continue to stire the UCF hornet nest.
