Next up for Syracuse?

Syracuse is next on the USF schedule, but the Orange may be looking beyond that. A group of former Syracuse players, including fullback Ron Konrad, are lobbying for coach Greg Robinson to be fired and replaced by Florida offensive line coach Steve Addazio, the Syracuse Post-Standard reported.

The group has sent a letter to the school’s president and athletic director recommending Addazio, an assistant for the Orange from 1995-98.

It reads, in part: “During our group discussions regarding coaching candidates, we have consistently arrived at one individual who as a head coach at Syracuse would fill the critical needs of the program addressed above … (Steve Addazio). He has built a reputation as a tremendous recruiter and a passionate motivator.

“Addazio has helped organize some of the most potent nonconventional offenses in college football, including Florida’s national championship season and Syracuse’s Big East championship and BCS seasons. … Considering his past ties to the university, he may come with a reasonable price tag.”

Konrad also says in the letter he has not spoken with Addazio and does not know if he’s interested in the job.

Tampa Mike..i agree..WindBane is really just WindBLOWN...Ari always has some good realistic points.

Stephen...Ben Moffitt won't have a chance since his ex blew the whistle on his for doing his homework while he was at USF..how embarrassing was that for USF's 2007 feel good story!!

I noticed this Windbane guy always talks crap to Ari. Its funny because I enjoy reading Ari's thoughts and posts and could give two craps about Windbanes.

Go Bulls!

What a story--the players petitioning for a coaching change. Very sad what's happened there.

my opinion doesn't mean anything but I would like to see us use a pro-set. blocking FB (kelly) in front of a RB. Use the run to setup the pass.

no RB in the backfield is an invitation for a blitz and we do nothing to counter it.

I would like to see us blitz more on defense. especially 3rd and long as we seem to give those up pretty easily. a little safety help for Roberts wouldn't hurt either. that poor guy is on an island out there.

we need to give teams some different looks. our offense is way too predictable.

I know that I don't have any coaching expierence other than my 7 year old nephew's flag football team, and I use the term football loosely, but it seems to me that at least the past 2 games, if not more, Mike Ford has proven that he is one hell of a running back. However, we only see him for 1 or 2 series. He had 55 yards on the drive that lead to Hester's TD catch. What happened to all the pre-season business the coaches were saying about running back is out deepest position and we are going to run run run?? Terrible play calling on GG's part. The other thing I noticed is that most of the year we have been playing in the nickel (5 DB's) Pitt is the first run heavy team we palyed therefore needing to switch to the standard 4-3...Pitt found a weakness that was masked by the extra DB being out there and that is that Tyler Roberts is not as good as we all thought and they showed it time and time again by constantly throwing his way. Look for other teams to exploit this too, especially pass happy Louisville.

We'd be better served by petitioning the NCAA and NFL to restore the eligibility of Mike Jenkins, Trae Williams, Ben Moffitt and Anthony Henry.

Army...take GG back? Doooooo it!!

Ari: shut up??

Oh god I hope so. I think we ought to take up a collection and donate the entire first years salary to Army to encourage them to get him back!

is it true that the Army alumni are calling for Army to hire Greg Gregory next year in place of Stan Brock?

Will the real Greg Auman stand up??
