Rutgers is within a point of the most points ever allowed by USF at home, as a 92-yard touchdown pass from Mike Teel to Kenny Britt -- he bounced off USF's Nate Allen and Jerome Murphy halfway to the end zone -- has put the Scarlet Knights up 42-16 with 12:57 to play.
The only time USF has given up more points at home was a 43-14 loss to Pittsburgh to end the 2004 season. The loss -- USF's fourth in five games -- will assure USF of a losing conference record for the first time since the Bulls joined the Big East in 2005.

Times sportswriter Greg Auman, who covers USF, will post news and thoughts on the Bulletin and we invite your participation in the comments area.
Poor execution all day! When each week the safeties and corners get beat on the long balls and always try to bump tackle instead of wrapping up the receiver, I blame the coaches for not chewing tail. When nearly every first down is a run to the left or the right, it is real easy to plan defense against and I blame the coaches. When Grothe is throwing off his back foot and passes are floating or falling 3 yards short, I blame the coaching staff.
When the cheerleaders are out of sync on the sideline, I blame the local fraternity for serving alcohol too late into the night the day before a game.
At this point,we will be lucky to get a bid to the St. Pete Also Ran Bowl.
Come on CJL, get an O coordinator who can figure out what works for this team-perhaps an option offense??
And can someone please, please, please teach the secondary how to get behind the receivers ??!!!

When you pay someone more than a million to run a business stockholders expect growth...What has The Jim done in conference games the last 6 seasons?
C-USA
2003 5-3
2004 3-5
Big East
2005 4-3
2006 4-3
2007 4-3
2008 1-4
The Jim needs to do the right thing and step down.

I agree with worst fans. I'm a ride or die bulls fan. This has been a tough season but I am in no way abandoning my team. USF fans need to show a little bit of pride and stick with them through thick and thin. Something needs to be done though, I dont think things look too good for Gregory. But honestly, everyone needs to be held accountable.

it's amazing how the fans talking crap now and turning their back on USF were the same fans who were "die-hards" at the beginning of the season... have some pride in your team it's ridiculous how many want to jump ship because we have a bad season

Delda, I don't think you can truly say that USF is a "good" team, sorry.

same terrible play calls series after series. game after game. i've had it with overrated grothe and offensive coordinator. and leavitt can take the rest of the season off

During his post-game interview, perhaps Coach Leavitt could paraphrase Lou Holtz. In his first head coaching job at thge College of William & Mary in 1969, Holtz was quoted after a humiliating loss,"We had too many Marys on the field today, and not enough Williams."
Coach Leavitt could opine that he had too few Bulls, and too many heifers."

Please show some signs of sanity
You have proven you can't create a gameplan so call the right audible.
PLEASE PULL GROTHE SO HE DOES NOT GET HURT
It's silly to think he should be playing down at least 3 tds at this point and the dirty scarlet knights going out to hurt this talent.
Let your backup QBs get some time.

Who knew a 5-0 team could be this bad? We must be the worst 'good' team in the history of the NCAA.
We still can't beat a blitz, get zero pressure on the qb, and cannot cover a receiver.
I really hope the company sends me overseas now.
