Former USF linebacker Tyrone McKenzie, who withdrew his name from playing in the East-West Shrine Game in Houston, will now play in another key showcase for potential draft picks, the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
McKenzie, USF's leading tackler the past two seasons, could not be reached for comment. He's one of two Bulls seniors who will play in senior showcase games, with receiver Taurus Johnson playing in the Shrine Game on Jan. 17.

Times sportswriter Greg Auman, who covers USF, will post news and thoughts on the Bulletin and we invite your participation in the comments area.
I think UCF would be a better option for him if playing time is his primary concern- we didn't see much of BJ, but his fastball was pretty good. And though he doesn't show much on the basketball court, he has shown pretty good mobility- Marve can't move like that. That said, I don't know if Landi is really a starting-caliber QB is there is an injury, and there certainly is room for a guy of Marve's ability. I don't think he would pull any of that non-sense, given that he'd be replacing the best thing that ever happened to us and Mike Ford (and Ryan Gilliam) was a bigger recruit out of high school.

Marve can come to back up Grothe this year and BJ the next few years...sure. :)
The second he pulls any of this..."i'm the best thing that ever happened to your program garbage though"...cya. We may have blown some potential huge seasons the last 2 years, but at the very least, the team seems pretty TOGETHER. Don't want to mess that up.

Saw the Marve stuff last night but didn't get it up amid all the craziness. I'll have a post in a sec ...

Hey Greg,
Now that Robert Marve has permission to transfer to either USF or UCF, when are we going to know if Coach Leavitt will offer him a scholarship?
The Miami Herald reported that Eugene Marve said they would be, "honored by any university that would offer Robert a scholarship to play football..."
