More pop-culture love for USF football, and for my readers, it's probably a bit more relevant than Tank McNamara. I'm not much of a video-game guy (we have a Wii at the house) but twice in the past day I've been told of Bulls fans overjoyed to see a computerized likeness of USF running back Mike Ford on the main page at Xbox Live, where EA Sports' NCAA Football 2010 is to be released on Tuesday.
One Bulls fan on Twitter.com posted a Twitpic screengrab that shows a USF running back wearing No. 26 -- that'd be Mike Ford -- running away from what appears to be a UCF defensive player.
There's a cool trailer for the new game -- there's a ton of teams that get pictured in the video, but I can't find USF or even any Big East schools in there.

Times sportswriter Greg Auman, who covers USF, will post news and thoughts on the Bulletin and we invite your participation in the comments area.
Jamar Taylor will be the breakout RB this year. Lakeland represent!

That's hilarious, Greg. Thanks.

MC, the shot itself is not on the Xbox website, it's on Xbox Live. On the console.

Ken, you've come to appreciate the difference between a July post on a college football blog and an August post on a college football blog ... In due time, in due time ...

Looks like a USF fan just did that shot. Haven't seen anything on the site and just about every year someone will photoshop someone in there from the games screen shots.

I don't find this report about Ford very exciting or even interesting. I hope, though, that it will be followed by reports of his running away from real players in real games in another few weeks.

I was in Maitland all last week. Small world ...

There isn't much reason to be shocked about USF and UCF in EA Sports publications. EA is in Maitland FL just minutes away from the UCF campus.

Typo, sorry...need more coffee:
you KNOW you want to BE here.

Chalko, is there NOTHING going on with your UCF Knights? So bleak, that at 2:24 AM, you're trolling the USF Bulls sports blog? It's kinda sad, but here's hope for you:
Assuming you graduated from UCF, maybe get your Master's from USF, and you can become a Bull and cheer for the right team. It's never to late to convert Chalko. Come on...you KNOW you want to here.

Windbane, cry a little more about something more meaningless, virtually impossible!
Posted by: Chalko | July 12, 2009 at 02:24 AM
BC, we're watching two different trailers, and that's definitely USF. Thanks for the screengrab ...
Posted by: G.A. | July 12, 2009 at 12:42 AM
Do they still have our rival listed as UCF despite not playing them anymore? How about overrating UCF compared to USF because the game is made in Orlando? Ugh...I buy this game every year, too...

I believe you have to watch the trailer downloadable on Xbox Live (not sure if it's the same one that's on the Xbox website, but here's a shot from my tv, playing the trailer on my Xbox:

I've watched the trailer several times and unless I'm watching the wrong video of NCAA 2010 I don't see us

Awesome!!

EA better watch out...
if they put too many players/teams into their game that can be recognized, there may be a few more lawsuits :) lol

BC, was thinking at first it was the same thing, but if you look closely, it's a UAB receiver against a Marshall player ...

For anyone who watches the trailer provided on Xbox Live, there is a quick clip with a USF WR at about the 38 second mark

Hahaha, I like the RayJay was painted green too.
