Former USF receiver S.J. Green, patiently waiting for most of two seasons on the Montreal Alouettes' practice roster, got a big break last week, catching five passes for 113 yards and a touchdown and making a name for himself in the CFL ranks.
"It was very frustrating, a very humbling experience for me having to sit and wait two years on the practice squad, knowing that I could play and contribute," Green told the Canadian Press after the win. "I waited my turn and made the best of the opportunity I received."
Green had totaled 114 yards in two seasons, nearly matching that in a single day, and there's optimism his production can continue -- he was originally activated because of a teammate's injury. His next game is Saturday against Saskatchewan. Here's another story on Green from last week in the Montreal Gazette.
And thanks to readers Brent and Phil Forget, father and son and USF alums from 1975 and 2004, who attended Thursday's game and were able to meet Green afterwards. They were nice enough to pass along the photo you see here ...
-- USF continues to expand its radio network for football games, adding 640 AM in Palm Beach County, with a nighttime reach that extends up to Jupiter and south of Miami ...
-- Great story from the Miami Herald, about how four football players from Hollywood Hills, driving home from USF's Sling & Shoot camp late Sunday with coach Scott Barnwell, pulled over and helped rescue three people from an overturned SUV sinking in a roadside canal off U.S. 27 near Clewiston.

Times sportswriter Greg Auman, who covers USF, will post news and thoughts on the Bulletin and we invite your participation in the comments area.
I am a BIG fan of the USF radio broadcast. It has tremendous insight and really does a good job of objectively analyzing the game.
My only complaint is Jim Lauk(?) getting away from "That's six for the Bulls!!"
Great call. It was the signature line and he has gotten away from. Guy needs to bring it back - it was his trademark.
Listeners all over appreciated the call.
"THAT'S SIX FOR THE BULLS!"
Hope to hear him bring it back this year on "The University of South Florida Football Network"
