Steeler Football Tickets

Every body has interested for live foot ball game. Every player of football team play very good and try their best to win their team in a game. I also like to watch foot ball game. So i always buy my football match ticket in advance.

Jupiter Bull

Done with Jim: with all of those advantages, when the Bulls kicked off in 1997, did you see us breaking into the Top 25 by 2007?

Be honest, if not with us, then with yourself. Most are us are very disappointed with the losses this year. Most of us have asked if CLJ has done all he can...myself included. But I am thrilled that we can even HAVE these discussions. Unlike you, in 1997, I had no clue we'd teasing the Top 25, and dropping Top 25 teams each year. Kudos to you, for knowing it was so certain. These facts were also present in the late 70s...you should've spearheaded the effort then, offering your certainty to the officials at USF.

I can't speak for others, but I'm disappointed in the lapses, but optimistic that we'll keep getting better. BJ's emergence gives me hope, but I still ask the question re: CLJ. But until there is a change, I'll support the Bulls, and go to all the games I can...including the bowls you see as "gifts". GO BULLs!

Steve O'Neal

It would be fair to say that done with the jim only recognizes things that help further his obsession of dislike for CJL! The Bulls could win the BE title and done would say it was a "gift" from the FB Gods! The FACTS are that USF has grown faster than any other FB program just starting out in probably the last 50yrs. The facts are that he has done it without top recruiting classes until this last season. Now when CJL has strung together 3 or 4 of theses types of recruiting classes. The talent level for the 2nd and 3rd strings improves providing quality depth. Then if CJL can't get us to the next level, it would be time to look for a new HC.

FAU, UCF and UAB all have large student bodies, large media markets, and play or played in NFL or comparable stadia.

Middle Tennessee, FIU, North Texas, Buffalo, Connecticut, and UNLV (which moved to I-A 31 years ago) have large student bodies and large markets, but not NFL stadia -- in some cases by choice.

Nevada and Boise State have medium-sized to large student bodies, medium-sized media markets, and medium-sized stadia. Tulsa is a small private school but otherwise fits in this section.

Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Idaho, and the rest of the Sun Belt Conference have large student bodies and, in some cases, a history of success at lower levels of football which USF never had.

To suggest that USF succeeded in football solely due to unfair advantage is stupid and ignorant.

"We've ascended faster than any other NCAA football program. That's a fact." Ken

*****

How many football programs have been started by a school as large as USF in the last 30 years?

How many were located in a top 25 TV market?

How many played in an NFL stadium or a stadium with the capacity of 65K or more?

" So we've had some lower tiered bowls...at least we've gone to 4 straight bowls, and barring a major meltdown, are headed for 5." Ken

Wouldn't it be fair to say that those bowl games were a 'gift' from the Big East?

G.A.

I'll see if I can figure out how many teams have played in four straight bowl games -- would be a good chart for when (or if, I suppose) USF picks up its seventh win.

Jupiter Bull

Ken, USF still has much to prove, but to bash us & say our program is a joke and should be I-AA is just foolish.

We've ascended faster than any other NCAA football program. That's a fact. So we've had some lower tiered bowls...at least we've gone to 4 straight bowls, and barring a major meltdown, are headed for 5.

GA perhaps can advise, but how many teams have played in 4 straight bowl games? Plenty, I'm sure. Maybe 30? Not bad company.

And unless FSU wins some tough games, they'll be shut out this year.

Ken

I don't know--I thought we descended pretty far from Charlotte to Birmingham, and again from the Sun Bowl to St. Pete--but I think you both mean a decent bowl, which is another question.

Jupiter Bull

Closing time at the "Adult Store" where you work? Done mopping up, and now venting at USF in an attempt to dull the pain? To somehow erase the series of bad decisions that led you to your current pathetic life? Sad.

Now, I will agree with you here, genius: USF has never been to a "descent bowl".

I'd love to hear what school you claim, since it clearly did a fantastic job educating you. USF isn't a joke...YOU are. Sleep it off, and post something clever next time.

USFshould be 1-AA

USF is a joke, and should be 1-AA! The cows have never won a conference championship or a descent bowl in program history!!!!! Go COMMUTER U!

Jupiter Bull

Bill B., good point. I hate buying thru the USF site. You don't know where you'll sit till the tix arrive. I will buy from ticket master or Stubhub or craiglist. USF still gets my $$, but their system sux.

Bill B.

UM has better ratings than filling the stadium. It might mean fans and grads move out of the area after they get an education. I know that is bad but it could be. Since it is a private school I don't know if they have out of state tuition or if all pay the same. Another issue is many UM fans will buy tickets from Ticket Master to get better seats. I know every time I use the USF site to buy tickets we get endzone or worse. At the Sun Bowl the seats were high and near the end zone our seats were half way up and on the 50 yard line, for the same price. The good seats are available on line and unfortunately they don't get counted in the tally for the fans.

Hernando

UM football seems to be much better at drawing TV viewers than filling seats in stadia with UM fans. The TV networks love showing UM games because of the high ratings the games usually get.

Steve O'Neal

Typical Done with the jim, smartass remarks but no response to a serious question! GO BULLS!

Steve O'Neal

You're right, Jupiter. I meant to capitalize the "E" also. I believe the intent of ESPN was to establish a rivalry game to be played every Thanksgiving WE when they 1st approached UM with their proposal. How CJL responded after the last victory against ucf was in response to the articles written by the Orlando press about the Bulls program. The fans and students appreciated his response. GO BULLS!

 Jupiter Bull

Done with the Jim. I think Steve use of "We" meant "weekend". I'm sure he's aware we don't play on T-Day.

I don't disagree that many UM fans will buy tix on stubhub, Craigslist, etc., so we won't know the mix till kick off. I was very disappointed at the number of empty seats in the lower level (30-30 yrd area). Sad to see those "fans" not show up, or least donate their tickets to a youth group or someone else that would love the experience. If we want to be a big time program, we need better local, loyal support...not just fair weather fans that show up when we are peaking.

Looking forward to a stress free weekend of watching football with the stomach churn of a USF game. My wife should boost her healing from the WVU loss by pounding a very bad Lville team at noon tomorrow.

With a few key losses this weekend, we could back into the AP Top 25. At this point, I'm not sure if that good or bad. GO BULLS!

Steve O'Neal

The game is on Thanksgiving We, NOT Thanksgiving day! I will be there early enough on game day to tailgate with family and friends. Then I will be in the stadium cheering for my Bulls to win. Unlike you who will be at home hoping they lose so you can continue your campaign against CJL. What are you going to do if the Bulls start stringing together successful recruiting classes and develops the depth to compete with the older more established FB programs? What are you going to do if CJL is the right guy to take this program to the next level? Admit you were wrong? GO BULLS!

gobulls32

Don't think because the school sent back those tix that there won't be UM fans there. I guarantee there are plenty of Cane fans in this area who bought a ticket to have a rare chance to see their team. Don't be surprised if there's at least 20K folks with Miami gear on.
USF has been smart trying to limit the single game purchases for this one. The way they are packaging them reduces the likelihood of UM fans buying them. Go Bulls.

"After 5 straight games on Thanksgiving We and USF/UM just might become a nice out of conference rivalry.

Posted by: Steve O'Neal | November 06, 2009 at 07:17 AM

------

Be sure to show up at the RayJay early on Thankgiving.

Steve O'Neal

USF and UM playing is a better game than UCF playing anybody. Both USF and UM are BCS schools and better programs than ucf. After 5 straight games on Thanksgiving We and USF/UM just might become a nice out of conference rivalry. But keep on taking shots at USF because you don't like CJL, we get it. GO BULLS!

Done with the Jim

Tyler, If you excuse USF for traveling well to UCF because it wasn't a rivalry doesn't the same excuse apply to UM, after all USF isn't a rivalry game except perhaps in the eyes of USF'ers.

BTW, the way the Jim reacted when WE beat UCF in Orlando, you'd have thought the Bulls had won the BCS NC game.

Tyler

I just want to say, the two games that going pointed out as us not traveling well to were UCF and FIU...neither one of those schools compare to playing FSU, UM, or UF...those schools aren't big games. Whether UCF wanted a rivalry or not, USF students, at least the ones I know, didn't care about the rivalry or the game against them. We were praying USF wouldn't renew a series with them. Either way, I would expect UM to bring more fans than what they are.

 Jupiter Bull

USF haven't travelled well, aside from the FSU game. That's true. I was at FIU last year, and we had a few thousand, maybe? But I think we're getting better.

I just expected UM to travel better, given they likely have a larger fan base (they sell a lot more UM garb/gadgets than USF does). I don't buy that this isn't important to them. Yes, FSU is more important, but USF is a threat to them in the area of recruiting, and we snagged a fistfull of their kids this year. They want to beat us badly. They don't respect the program, and can't stand the thought of losing to us. The ones that show will be rowdy & wild...as they should be.

I agree the T-Day timing makes it tougher, and economics may weigh in.

To Ibis, I'm not trying to break in new material for you & your buds. I'm a recovering Canes fan, and usually pull for UM. I'm happy to see them recovering, but would love to beat them. I was at the OB in '04, and endured UM "fans" sparking up fatties IN THE STANDS, and UM fans taunting & pushing USF fans AFTER beating us 27-7. You won...we get it.

UM & it's fans were GIVEN their reputation...they EARNED it. Shannon is shrinking that 'rhoid as fast he can. Props to him. GO BULLS!

Bill B.

What bugs me about waiting to announce the kick off is we don't have TV coverage for that game. Unless they are hoping to have that added. Then they will wait till the 16th. If we beat RU we get a TV slot, if we lose we don't have one and wont get one. I vote for a 3:30 game. Saves me money and more fun than a 12:00pm time.

Bullshark

One point the folks who criticize the USF road attendance need to realize is that not only is USF new to the BE, but relatively new to football. We haven't had a program for decades like many other schools have, we don't have generations yet who go to games just like their parents did. Unfortunately, after 13 years were probably statistically supposed to travel a lot worse than we do. This is huge variable because we don't have the pre-'96 alums (who would have been at games) still following the program. If your comparing USF's road attendance to other schools road attendance, make sure you compare it to those schools with no longer than a 13 year football history. Student population means almost nothing, not every student is a football fan.

Norb

"any idea on time yet for the Canes game?"

I called 800-GO-BULLS today to find out about kick-off for Louisville game & was told that they find out 12 days before gameday. But he also mentioned their is a clause where they can wait until 6 days before the game to announce kick-off and stated that he didn't see that happening for Louisville but thought it was very possible for Miami game to not find out until 6 days before.

bob

Just was on ESPN.com. Todd McShay and Scouts, Inc. have their Top 100. Including four bulls:
JPP
Selvie
Allen
and...........

Jerome Murphy???? Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot???

Wade

USF doesn't travel well? Put the crackpipe down..There were over 13k at the FSU game in Tally...

David Weber

Miami football tradition sure isn't based on fans! It's actually based on the right things- winning. Texas A&M may be famous for their fans, but it doesn't mean much in the big scheme.

It's not Miami's biggest game of the year- that was at FSU. In this economic climate, I can't blame anyone for taking only one road trip. The view on ESPN is better and cheaper. For us, it's our biggest home game ever, which is why I'll be there!

Done with the Jim

Go ahead and knock UM, but USF doesn't exactly travel well for a school as large as it is. Bowl turn-outs have been less than stellar, and as I recall we didn't bring big numbers to UCF (less than half the distance to Miami) at the Citrus Bowl. At last UCF game (in the Wok) there were many empty seats in the visitors sections. For those say that Miami can't fill their stadium for big games, please how many times have the Bulls sold out the RayJay. Compared to USF Miami is a small school with a student body of less than 16,000.

For it's size and number of alumi living in the Tampa Bay area and in the state of Florida, USF'ers should keep it their lips closed when it comes to attendance and traveling well.

Ugi

It's real easy, places like Tampa, Miami, Arizona, etc are all Pilgrims from the NE/MidWest.

But to further Miami's issue, they suffer from the same thing Southern Cal suffers from... APATHY!

Big Larry

Do we have any idea on time yet for the Canes game? Im guessing anything would be open besides 3:30 (FSU/UF game), doubt the networkd would want to go directly against it.

A nooner would be dissappointing, a night game would be a rockin'!

Sandro

Miami does not have that big of a fan base. I watched their game against Oklahoma which was a pretty big game for both schools and I saw plenty of seats available so we should be not suprised that they can not sell out their allotment.

GO BULLS !!!

ibiscool

you also might want to remember it is thanksgiving weekend. many of the students are not from florida and will be going home for the holidays, and many s. florida residents will be visiting family up north. and yes, the alumni base is much smaller and many do not live in miami, they went home to ny, nj, etc. i have my tickets, so this canes fan hopes to be there. oh, and your ankle bracelet comment, you would think that you could come up with something more original.

Pierre Roche

Miami has never been a traveling team, let alone strong draw at home.

That's why they are not as attractive to Bowls as many media perceive them to be because the bowls rely on the schools to sell their ticket allotments and fill hotel rooms.

The Gator Bowl would only want the "U" if they play ND, which would pack the place with Irish fans. If the opponent was Pitt, Cinci, USF or even Rutgers instead of ND I guarantee you the Gator would make sure it took an ACC team like VaTech, Clemson or GaTech instead of UM so they would have a school that would buy their allotment, plus a few thousand more tickets.

So, Greg glad you pointed out how well USF traveled to Tally. Information like this is important to get to Bowl officials. That could make a big difference on where we end up this year and years on out.

Bill B.

I wonder if this is a comment on the current economic times, the way they have always been, or faith in the season? It is ok as we should be serving duck wings for tailgaiting.

JB

It's a shame that for such a prominent program, they don't travel better than this. I was shocked to hear that USF helped to sellout Doak for the FSU game when Miami couldn't do it on a Labor Day game (in Prime Time) during week 1! Granted...it was a 1st time meeting between the two teams, so it was likely to sell out...but come on Miami fans...is that the best you can do? Even if USF had to travel to FSU for another match-up next season, I guarantee it would be sold out again, and USF would not be handing back any of their ticket allotment.

Sad to see this from the fans of a team that is doing pretty well this yera.

 Jupiter Bull

I've got co-workers who are UM alum. They contend that they have a smaller student body (true) and smaller alumni nation (not sure, but possible). Still, to me, it's an in-state game, and they should be thrilled to have an away game only 4 hours away.

That said, they also reminded me that they can't sell out big games at Land Shark, so it'll little surprise they won't travel. I will say the Thanksgiving weekend games are problematic for many, since lots of people travel to see family. I will be in VA to see my newborn nephew...so I can't make the game, but will try to get down to Land Shark next year (only a 60 minute drive).

I agree with Sandro...more of the good guys in green, and a chance to make a ton of noise to keep the Canes under pressure. Beating the Canes would be huge. Not sure for bragging rights, recruiting and a bowl game, but to stake our claim as #2 in FL, and to shut up my Canes co-workers for 12 months. GO BULLS!

P.S. We'd get to fight for #1 in Florida on 9/11/10. I will be in the Swamp...hope we Stamped the Gators & leave them as Swamp Mulch!

Tim

Miami is a small private school with 1/4th the number of the number of students that USF has.

Looking at those statistics reminds me of how much times have changed...

Amanda

I agree with Jupiter, I think their probations are so tight they can't even leave the county.

But seriously, do Miami fans just not travel well?

Sandro

Even better there will be more of our fans in the stands. Can't wait for this game. I hope we can win the next two games and be 8-2 when we play Miami.

GO BULLS !!!

Atlryry

Classic, Jupiter. Well said.

 Jupiter Bull

Ankle bracelets may be too restrictive for most Canes fans?

SailingBull

Boy that should be a GREAT matchup!
